OK Go at Nordstroms

edited November -1 in OK Go
I was shopping for Sadie Hawkins shoes today at Nordstroms and all of a sudden A Million Ways came on.

I had to stop and do the dance with my friends mid sunglasses-trying-on.

I have never been more excited ever! OK Go at the mall!? Mainstream baby!

    Ooooooh!

93.9 is such a tease. Last week sometime, I was getting dressed and I had the radio on, and they were doing one of those "station plugs"- you know, where it's like, "The Valley's only progressive rock station, 93.9, The River," like that? And they usually play songs in the background?

Well, they were playing "A Million Ways" in the background during the last two seconds of the plug.

And I so thought that they were going to play it on the radio.

    And they didn't.

This is the second time that this has happened. (Last time was back in November- I was actually in the bathroom getting ready to go see OK Go, and I had the radio on, and same thing happened, but they played the first two seconds of "Invincible" AND "A Million Ways.")

    tongue.gif I was upset.

Edit: They just did it AGAIN! Gah!
  • Call them and complain. lol. I'd do it.

I would have done it this morning, but I had to get to class. tongue.gif
  • This is a tad unrealted, but whenever A Million Ways/C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips comes on my iPod when working at the library, I drop my books, hide myself behind the shelves, and just DANCE. Of course, this means I've been caught a few times and stared at questioningly, but it was totally worth it.

    Classic!
  • haha my friend and i were watching the million ways video in the class we TA in, and the computers all face the teacher so in the middle of his lecture he was like, "uhhhhhhhhhhh... sorry, i was distracted by the video they are watching back there." and we didn't even hear him because we were so into it. haha
  • Ahahah, I got my math class into A Million Ways. One of the other girls in the class had seen them open for Rufus, so she was completely into it as well. We convinced my teacher to watch it and it amused him so much, he was going to recruit 3 other teachers to dance with him for the talent show... then he broke his ankle.... but still, he knows I love them and amuses himself by giving me my tests and saying "ok.... GO!"

    I love math class sometimes.
  • OK Go rock so much, they break teachers ankles
  • I'm resurrecting this thread becuase I don't fee like starting my own.

So yay for hearing OK Go in random places again:

My brother was watching Fuse this morning (it's all Green Day today! Woot!), and they ran a commercial for their dedication live show, so I wandered into the kitchen.

Except then they started playing "A Million Ways," so I ran back into the living room. They were using it as background music for the Dedication Live commercial, so they weren't actually playing the vid or anything.

But still. Kudos to Fuse for being cool like that.

One day during the middle of a heavy boring lecture, the teacher finally decided to give us a bathroom break. Before getting up to wander the halls, I loaded the "Million Ways" dance and just left if there playing for all to enjoy. I got a kick out of watching random confused people in my class wander over in groups to stare at my computer. Woo hoo! wink.gif
  • i heard a million ways, well saw it really, for the first time on TV a few days ago. And then i watched it an hour later on e4 +1 hehe smile.gif

Fuse plays about .5 seconds of the vid during the commercial for "the F List", but I haven't actually seen it fully on TV. Still, it makes Fuse worth watching sometimes.

Haha, that is so great! I work a library too and do the same thing when OK Go comes on my mp3 player... It makes the days go a bit faster! And dancing to OK Go doesn't even come close to some of the crazy stuff we've seen there, so it's alright--at least it's fun!
  • I've recently become very partial to Do What You Want. I've always liked the song, but it finally hit what an amazing song it actually is (though I was a little disappointed with the music video. Oh well, we can't win them all).

Some child caught me dancing to it in Childrens' and I had to awkwardly turn off my iPod and show said child where the zombie books were. However, children tend to appreciate my dancing more than the adults down in nonfiction.

The "Do What You Want" music vid on the juggling club forum is much better than the one that's on youtube. Why don't they make that music vid public for all the world to enjoy besides us in the jc? I just love it. It reminds me of the movie "A Hard Day's Night" or a romp at the end of an episode of "The Monkees." I'm a 60s freak, don't try to talk me out of it smile.gif
  • I thought I heard Don't Ask Me on a commercial, and I flipped out . . .

    but it wasn't the song.

the only thing that came out of that was Brad laughing at me. smile.gif
  • they played the beginning of Get Over It in the commercials for that movie, "Just Friends". It made me happy.
  • They play in a lot of commercials and intros on MTV. Isn't one of their songs on the soundtrack for the new Amanda Bines' movie?

Dude, I've never heard OK Go on the radio, I wish they would play it somewhere where I live.
  • You go Connyfoo! This thread will never die. It mustn't. Nordstrom and Ok Go...come on just the thought of shopping and those boys makes the best of happy thoughts.
  • When I was in the mall once I saw A Million Ways playing on a t.v. in a store window. I had to stop everything and point it out to my sister, but she didn't seem to care. I'm pretty sure she has no soul.
