it's really ridiculous to sheild children from that sort of thing.it's going to fuck them up in the long run. there was an article in some magazine about a women who coddled her child too much when she was an enfant and now the kid is a mental wreck.
I was excluded. You were excluded. We're all, at some point in our lives, excluded from something.
I remember standing outside of a classroom in junior high and this giggly girl, Misty, walked around with a cute little paper bag decorated with stars and bows, and her cute little friends decorated in big hair and lipgloss, handing out neato cards that invited people to her birthday party. She walked right past me and I was CRUSHED.
However, now that I am an adult, I still get excluded from certain things, but it isn't as painful as that first time. So it's better to get that out of the way early so that when you're all grown up, you can deal with it better.
