OK Go with the Redwalls

edited November -1 in General Discussion
Does anyone here actually like the Redwalls?

I have to admit, I'm a little sad they'll be touring with them.

Will OK Go be the headliners?

  • Actually, I do like The Redwalls. I wasn't too sure about them, but then I saw them at Lolla. I think it'll be a great concert.

As for who the headliner is, I have no idea. But something is telling me it's going to be The Redwalls.
  • Oh, I'm all about the Redwalls! This will be great!!

BTW, the Redwalls are the headliners.
  • hope you redwalls fans don't hate me.

but i have to admit, i'm somewhat happy that the redwalls are headlining. that way i can listen to ok go and then wander off during the redwalls' set.

however, it would've been nice if ok go was headlining because they'd play more songs. i hope they still do the dance.
  • I quite like the redwalls and am happy with the pairing.
  • I bet they'll do the dance. When they opened for Kaiser Chiefs they did the dance. Yeah, they'll do it. They have to. It's a staple in their show.

Damnit, I really wish I could go to one of those shows. Damn you OK Go for not playing the East Coast mad.gif
  • i'm sure they'll add more dates. maybe not with the redwalls. but i'm sure they'll be touring a lot the next few months.
  • I'm extremely happy they are playing with The Redwalls!
  • Who are the Redwalls? I've never heard of them.
  • Sarah - I used to talk about them on here ALL THE TIME. ha. but go here:

    http://www.theredwalls.com

They have a jukebox on their site. Listen. Tell me what you think.
  • severely dissapointed ok go isnt the headline...
  • Amen to that. I will be nice about it and simply state that the Redwalls are "not a taste to my liking". wink.gif
  • its not their sound that bothers me, honestly i probably wouldnt have payed attention to them if they were the openers, but theyre cutting down on ok go songs, and maybe even the dance. this is blasphemy
  • They're not bad...is anyone else reminded of the Beatles by their stuff?
  • yeah, i think they completely rip the beatles off.

i think the main reason i don't care for them is because i don't like the lead singers voice at all.

Agreed...they are a Beatles rip-off. Even funnier, their myspace page has a list of "sounds like" and on that list are "The Hives"... huh.gif I would like to know, at WHAT point does this whiney band sound like The Hives? blink.gif At least I don't remember ever listening to the Hives and being overcome with this desire to sleep like I do with The Redwalls. dry.gif
  • Did you guys bother to check the bio on their site? They were originally called The Pages, and they were a cover band (mostly Beatles).. hence why you are hearing the influences... this isn't something they try to keep quiet, so it's not like they are trying to pass off a Beatles-esque sound as their own original sound.

It doesn't surprise me that a lot of you don't care for them, considering how Rooney (similar sound) was ripped apart here as well.

Ive seen the redwalls a few times in concert - last when they opened for Keane along with the Zutons - they totally admit that their beatle equse sound isnt something THEY came up with! Nehoo they put on an amazing live show and really get the audience hyped - and their album is really good!!!

THey really like canada so hopefully that means thegre will be dates in canada *cough toronto* posted eventually! *le sigh* I cant to see it!

Pam Carin Matt? I expect a sleepover at my house wink.gif lol
  • The Redwalls are playing in Toronto this Thursday.. but The Shout Out Louds are opening for them.... but you know if there's an OK Go/Redwalls show in Toronto, I'll be there! It's not like I haven't driven twice as much as that to see them smile.gif Besides, OK Go sleepovers are fun!
