yeah, i think they completely rip the beatles off.

i think the main reason i don't care for them is because i don't like the lead singers voice at all.

They started out as a Beatles cover band, that's why. They aren't trying to rip them off, they are just paying homage to a band they love so much. If you get the album you'll see not all of it is Beatles-esque. But a lot. So what? The singer, Logan, also has a very Bob Dylan style voice. Which is a voice a lot of people can't handle or love. I love it.

If anything though there is a strong Stones resemblance. With Dylan singing vocals.
  • har har i saw them on that mtv coke show thing. i was like, CHELSEA'S BAND! and then i listened to them. and liked them. and that's my story.

Ive seen the redwalls a few times in concert - last when they opened for Keane along with the Zutons - they totally admit that their beatle equse sound isnt something THEY came up with! Nehoo they put on an amazing live show and really get the audience hyped - and their album is really good!!!

Aw - you actually thought of me?!
  • I was supposed to see them with the Shout Out Louds a couple days ago but... they weren't there.
    I dunno why. I didn't ask anybody cause I didn't really care.

    haha of course
theyre all over your myspace and lj talk...
  • OK Go is going on tour with The Colour too?
Ah, I seem to want to see them live...
  • haha, you actually visit my myspace and LJ then? How come you never comment! blink.gif

And they weren't in Columbus because the boys needed another couple days off. We've been overworking them.

Besides, OK Go sleepovers are fun!
Redwalls sleepovers are fun too, especially in mini vans and when the weather is 25 degrees. That was a cold night. Anyway, I am quite happy that they are touring together. I am a HUGE fan of the redwalls. I won't get into how much my friends and I love them because I could go on for hours. The feeling of them touring is bitter sweet. It is awesome that these guys are touring together, but I won't get to see them together because I live in Chicago.
  • I wish OK Go and the Redwalls would play in Michigan together. I was hoping OK Go would come to MI! I saw the Redwalls a couple of weeks ago and they blew me away!
  • They definitely put on a good show when I saw them in Kansas City, though they did go over their set time, causing OK Go to have to cut a few shows out of their set, which I was none too pleased about. I've got some pictures:

  • Those photos are really good! I like Logan's hat, it's very lovely. biggrin.gif

    Thanks for sharing!
  • Thanks! Some lady (I think she was a little drunk) was trying to push her way through the crowds to ask him if she could have her hat. I let her through (she was moving sideways) just because I didn't want her standing in front of me. She never quite got up to ask him, I don't think (unless she did and he flat out said "no" tongue.gif )
  • I´m sorry to say this but the red walls are not that good I went to the concert in san diego and the colour open really good band and the music great! and then the red walls a complete bunch of rock stars!...wwwuuuummm...one of the fans get a little drunk and splash a bottle of beer and one member of the red walls get mad a trow a glass of beer to the guy and then the glass, then security jump in and take the guy out after that all the people stay quiet...when the band was playing...and then th greatest OK GO guys started playing and everybody were so happy and crazy....

    Great concert....!!!!
  • ARE YOU SERIOUS? Wow, I never heard of the Redwalls doing that! I thought they were always nice to everyone!

But they were drunk, so were the fans. That doesn't go too well a lot of the time.

Oooh, I get a Jim Morrison vibe from this.
  • i think that one redwall is trying to be like jim morrison. kind of odd.

I saw the redwalls twice on this tour. And the first time i didn't care for them much. but the second time i really started to dislike them. their music kind of bored me. and they are too much about their image for my taste. oh well....i don't expect to like every band i come across.

i didn't hear the colour the first show i went to, but i caught part of their set last night and they were pretty good. a lot more entertaining than the redwalls.

and ok go was amazing, of course.
  • That's funny, because we were all creeped out by the lead singer of the Colour, and thought he was trying to be Jim Morrison.
  • I don't think that on of them (Logan?) was trying to be Jim Morrison. I think he's coming across as a John Lennon type . . . Geez, me and my comparisons.

But I get that vibe. Just the beer throwing reminded me of Jim Morrison. I like Jim Morrison though.
  • that's right...it was the singer from the colour that was acting like jim morrison. i have some memory problems.
  • I have memory problems too. So don't feel bad. I swear if any of you knew me better you think I'd have Alzheimer's or something.

yeah, I was looking at some Colour photos from the Redwalls board today and the lead singer does remind me of Jim Morrison. Like his stance and how he acts. I don't know.
