So I've recently joined some sort of Monkees forum just so I can have the pictures there. Besides music, I cannot believe how little I have in common with those people! They are so snarky, not to each other but snidely about Davy Jones. How can you have a forum dedicated to Monkee love if you're going to belittle and say nasty comments about any member of that band who's done nothing bad to his fans? The forum leader there is the biggest offender. Just thought I'd throw out huuugs to you all for constantly being awesome, sweet, and totally neat. I mean, when I'm there I feel like a sugary optomist compared to those twats. You guys/gals are just da bomb!
Today, I walked out of the supermarket (where I was buying flowers) and found myself right in the middle of the Anarchist Parade. There was even an anarchist marching band! (Sadly, though, they were not my favorite anarchist marching band [my favorite: the Hungry March Band].) They were followed by police on horses wearing riot gear and a whole 'nother parade of cop cars and ambulances.
I was on my way to a Canadian high school's production of Grease.
I found more confetti. Or it found me. Ninja-fetti!
were you at any point in the evening standing inside the confetti canon?!? as this is the only probable scenerio i can come up with for you still finding confetti on your person... i only had the few pieces i shoved in my pocket as a keepsake...

Sadly no, I wasn't in the cannon. That probably woulda been a little fun actually. Like standing in one of those booths where the money is flying all around and you have to catch it to keep it. Perhaps I'm a confetti-attractor.
Also, went to the Double Door last night for a benefit show, there is still confetti all over the floor and stuck to the ceiling.
sometimes i find myself feeling my head and wondering if it would be bumpy if i shaved all my hair off...
probably my heads deformed and i dont even know...
This is funny because my friend (who just shaved her head and now has the most pet-able head ever) offered to have someone shave my head for me tomorrow. I'm considering it, only because I've basically lived in my hat for the past few months, so it's like I have no hair anyway. BUT, I'm worried about 1) bumpy head, 2) accentuating my already round face, and 3) the growing out process.
We'll see. I've been thinking about it for a while now.
Dude, go for it. Though, cautionary story: My cousin used to dye her hair a lot, and once she shaved it off, she discovered there was a large black stain on the back of her head. I'm not sure if you've ever dyed your hair black, but there is a slight risk of looking like a bruised apple.
I think I might skip it for now. I have to start looking for jobs soon and, though I'd like to pretend that me having a buzz cut shouldn't matter, it might.
Ugh. How does one go about challenging conventions on appearance while also making enough money to get by?
I guess it's worth doing whatever you want and realizing that if people have a problem with it, they're assholes who aren't willing to see who you are as a person.

i go into work looking like a "gangster" as my coworkers call me and change and know one would know. As long as the employers are cool appearance doesnt really matter.
its hard not to wear my awesome nikes during work though...
buzz cut is a tough call though. maybe get the job first and see the rules on appearance. if it doesnt state anywhere any hair rules go for it. they cant fire you for your hair. or lack of it.
just be sure to follow the rules. rules help employees out too ive found. you can always turn it back on the employer if they're mistreating you.

LOL!! The difference is when we snark it's out of love. When they snark it's just mean and over the top. I love good snark when it's out of love.
Anyway, I need entertainment. I'm in a funk, guys. Cheer me up! Say stuff!

All in all, a very good evening.

When you figure this out - actually, let's just change it to "challenging conventions, period" - please let me know.
