The lead singer of the Redwalls had a black eye at the Kansas City show.. I won't say how he got it.

    As for backstage gossip...  cool.gif

But wouldn't it be dishonorable to fight the Redwalls? It'd be like hitting a girl.

laugh.gif I can't even say anything to that. That was beautiful. laugh.gif
  • Oh, the way some of the Redwalls were all over all the female fans at the show, I have a very hard time relating them to girls. They definitely had their mack on.

    Wow.
  • At least somebody had their mack on. rolleyes.gif
  • **slurred drunkenness** "heeeeyy, whadd'ya think of our show??" leans in closer, the stench of alcohol getting stronger... "wanna come see our tour bus?"

This in no means happened.. but from events that occured, it's not too farfetched lol.

(Note: I love the Redwalls. They're just sometimes very easy to make fun of, that's all)
  • At the show in Kansas City (Grand Emporium), I definitely got the feeling that The Redwalls extended their set, and OK Go had to shorten their set as a result. I got a setlist that night (thanks ConversationFear!) and there are definitely three songs on there we didn't get to hear. I was sad, and annoyed at the Redwalls.

I saw the black eye on the Redwall as well. I would love to hear how that happened. I also saw the same Redwall (I admit, though, I have trouble telling the small ones apart) ALL OVER a female fan after the show, then passed out in the front seat of their van ten minutes later.

I third the suggestion that all those bands play a show somewhere between Chicago and Michigan.

I would enjoy seeing The Gun Shys in concert, as I have recently become a fan of their music.

Your use of the singular "Redwall" is fantastic.

As for their rock star behavior, I suppose they are just kids. I thought it was great in the blog when Andy was like, "It made me insanely jealous to think that at the age of 18 I was doing something as galatically stupid as going to college...." It was a lovely, ambiguous dig.

But it does sound like they need to grow up a bit. If they weren't infringing upon OK Go's set time all would be forgiven, but that's truly inexcusable behavior.

I also love the use of the singular "redwall." very amusing.

how young are all of the redwalls anyway?

Jaded, I think we need to talk to guys into having the same lineup inbetween us somewhere, or hell, I'll drive to Michigan, I've driven a lot further than that for OK Go (Carin, you can fly in again LOL).

THAT IS THE BEST IDEA I'VE HEARD ALL FRICKIN' WEEK!

The Gun Shys have talked about touring the States, but I don't know if it'll happen. I'll have to talk to Chelsea about that one. I wish the Colour played in Michigan when the Redwalls came in August, they had a crappy band open for them that was punk? Weird.

But yes, OK Go and the Redwalls MUST do a show together in the Midwest! It sort of has to be in MI, because my mom won't let me leave the state by myself unless I'm with an adult she agrees to. Sucks majorly but I am 17 . . .

I've been talking to some people in Port Huron and they're interested in the Redwalls playing, but Mitch hasn't e-mailed me back. Maybe they could play on the Lake Michigan coast so it wouldn't be such a long drive for people, it's in the middle!

As you can see I'm all for this, we really should talk to Mitch or someone. I was going to see them the 17th of August but again with my mom.

    So . . . ah . . . How did Logan get the shiner? biggrin.gif

EDIT!!! Sorry I'm adding more, this thread grew up when I was gone! OK, the Midwest is the best for concerts and those bands from the Midwest make the concerts in the Midwest even better because we can all relate. *Tim Nordwind voice* yeah . . .

The Redwalls definitely like the ladies, and the ladies don't seem to mind. It's funny how Justin is all shy before a gig (not drinking), and after a gig, he's all flirty (drunk). I love it.
  • Poison and I enjoy calling them "Redwalls". Yeah, I know their names, but it's more fun that way. "Hey, did you see that Redwall walk right past us?" ... "Oh man, that Redwall is sooo plastered!" ... "How does that Redwall get circulation in pants that tight?"

If you talk to someone about the show, try to get it on a Saturday if at all possible. I go to school near the Twin Cities (Minnesota), so it'll take me 4 hours alone to get to Milwaukee, much less where the show is going to be.

We didn't talk to the Redwalls after the show. Judging by the way they were all over those girls, I didn't really feel like it. Maybe next time.

Luckily I haven't needed parent's permission for a long time now. They didn't even flinch when I told them I was flying to Kansas City, or driving to Montreal, or going to Ohio.. or other assorted crazy OK Go shows.

As for Logan's shiner.. I have this theory that Dan was amicably drunk, but then there was a confrontation about how the Redwalls keep going over so OK Go's set keeps getting shortened.. and Dan used his Simian strength to teach Logan a lesson.

    I'm kidding. tongue.gif
  • Haha, I wonder about the pants issue as well.

You know, I saw Justin walk to the tour bus as I was pulling into the parking lot at the Detroit show, I almost went to the other side of the road. I was freaking out.

Yeah I'm what you call a Redwalls freak. But I love OK Go and the Redwalls equally.

But what if they did get into a cat fight? Haha, that'd be funny.

Don't they like each other or something? Just curious.

Was this girl pointy looking? Defined nose, long dark hair, gave dirty looks to fellow redwalls fans? If so, that was probably his girlfriend.

Haha, oh no. Not the dirty looks again! biggrin.gif
  • Is she shorter than he is? (I know that sounds impossible haha)
  • I must know....was this the girl and was that the redwall?

I love that you describe her as "pointy".... I think I remember dark hair, and she seemed to be about the same height as him, or possibly shorter (which is hard to do). But would she have been in KC for that show? [although as I say that, I realize that I think there were some high school friends of the non-brother-yet-still-small-Redwall at the show as well, which I was trying to figure out since I thought they were all from chicago]
And Jaded, who is this mitch that you speak of?
  • mitch is their manager. Good Ol Mitch.
  • is he the older guy that seemed sorta bossy and lurked behind the curtain at the back of the stage during the show? he kinda creeped me out.

"if you're not lurking behind every curtain..." LOL
  • does the guy have a beard?!?!?! because no, but my friends and i call him roadie mitch. and was that girl in the picture "the fan"?
