How the hell he did that still amazes me... and not in a "look! cool!" kind of amazed... the amazed that makes you want to tear out your hair in frustration.
just like how the canadian ppl decided to elect a minority conservative government...
it was like canada's way of saying, "Shame on you liberal government.....we shall show you *shakes fist* buuutt we don't wanna get rid of you completely soooooo MINORITY GOVERNMENT! w00t!"
let's hope the gov't gets defeated in liek 2 years like Paul Martin's libs did b4 haper bans gay marriage and makes it illegal to abort *not that im saying i agree with abortion but thats just a diff issue* and then privatises health care!
Oh yes, the Budget Reconciliation Act! What a piece of shit. My state representative changed his vote of no to yes for the second HR vote for this fucking awful bill. I seriously can't even begin to describe how angry it makes me... but I'm going to rant anyway.
I'm not going to go into how much I disapprove of the war in Iraq, but I must say that the fact that it's cost not only lives (from American to Iraqi), the loss of our Allies, and resources was apparently not enough for the government. So, the people who will be paying for the war will not be those who sent us there, but the weakest in our society, the people who need our help the most. The elderly, the college students, the poor who can't afford medical aid, the sick, and even the middle-class, THOSE will be the people who pay.
I couldn't stand Bush sitting there with that god-awful smug look on his face as he said how America would be able to cope in a "flattening world" (not true in the least, China and India are poised to kick our economic asses) and how he was focused on improvement in the maths and sciences (how are we going to do that when the interest rate for college loans has jumped from a variable 5.3 to a FIXED 7%? Potential scholars who happen to come from impoverished roots will be unable to pay for college without putting their family into debt and what kind child would do that to their family?).
Though I did think that the Democrats standing ovation of the (so-far) failed attempt to privatize social security was a bit rude (though I agreed with them), but look at Medicare and what a shitstorm it has created; if we had done similar to Social Security, I don't know who would have been able to sort it out.
Bush is an awful president who happened to know how to work the media so that no matter what shit he gets us into, he'll find a way to put a positive spin on it. That scares the hell out of me.
/rant
True dat. Allll of it.

Yeah, that's basically what it is.
These are the moments at which I wish Damian were posting on the boards or something. I want to hear his rant on the SotU address...
