  • I couldn't figure out where I wanted to put this but this seemed like the better spot. :}

These are the shirts my friends and I made for the Anahiem concert! They are done with black spraypaint and handmade stencils! On the back it says 'A new era of awesome' in a kinda okgo-ish font in black.

    PinkMuffin, loved the pictures!
How do you do that? It's awesome!
  • Hensocks, that t-shirt is sooooo cute! How did you make the stencil? Handmade? What a talent!
  • LOVE those shirts! Yeah, I wanna know how you made those stencils! Amazing.
  • those are REALLY cute. I'm totally jealous.
  • Those shirts are awesome! I love how you used softball tees. Just like real OK Go merch.
  • Thanks everybody! biggrin.gif

So the stencil was made of this:
    http://www.brandweek.com/bw/photos/stylus/...aRep-Spring.jpg
then after printing it out, i did test stencils to see how much of their faces i needed to make them actually look like faces (if that makes sense):

^^this was one of the first stencils, it was... getting there. lol

I was using an excato knife to do all this and the paper is just plain printing paper.
But after spray painting the stencil a few times the paint helps harden the paper so it lasts longer and doesn't get as mushy or crumpled. The paper-stencils lasted all the way through all the shirts as well as many practice sprays but about 5mins after the shirts were finished, the stencil fell apart. And to keep the stencil still when on the shirts, we stuck it to the shirts using blue painters tape and pins.
The spraypainted fabric lasts pretty well though a few washes without fading too much, but I wouldn't suggest it. Just febreze it! smile.gif

Ohmygosh, you are brilliant. That is awwwwwwesome. Now, I want one. Hey, maybe you can send your design to management or something and see if they'll sell it! Oh and do the same for the Viva La Vida cap, but obviously to Coldplay.

And that's a great idea! But how would I go about contacting management about this?

Possibly e-mail Mr. Mr. Jorge, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore? I love those shirts! I wish I had one!
EDIT: Love the Coldplay hat too! Hensocks, you are so talented!
  • My new school (The Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, The Netherlands) asked me to re-design the artwork from 3 of your favourite CDs.
I choose OK Go - 'Oh No' as one of them; this is what I came up with..

For the people who think these photos look crap (me included), here is a HQ printable PDF (where you can see more detail of the artwork):

I kept the flowers and stuff but tried to re-design as much as I could + I wanted more typography on the artwork.

Tell me what you think! Much appreciated..
  • Wow, those are really good!
  • ohmygosh I am LOVING your work! The typography element is fantastic and the photo choice brilliant. The photo shoot was just awesome. Now I want one for myself.
