I promised myself that I was NOT going to post over here until finals were over, but clearly, that hasn't happened.
So I've just discovered (as some of you have found out in recent, angry LJ posts
) that they guys are playing at what are probably going to be two AWESOME festivals this summer.
9 June, San Diego, CALine-up includes OK Go, The Cult, Dashboard Confessional, P!ATD, Franz Ferdinand, Echo & The Bunnymen, Hard-Fi, SWR, and (plus a few others).
10 June, Mountain View, CALine-up includes OK Go, AFI, Echo and the Bunnymen, the Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Yellowcard, P!ATD, SWR, Thursday, Wolfmother, Anti-Flag, Hard-Fi, Hush Sound, and several more.
Now I've told myself that the MOMENT OK Go and Franz Ferdinand did a show together, I'd be there. But I can't afford to fly to CA!!!!!! AND THE STROKES! They're playing with The Strokes! On the same day!(Not on the same stage, mind you, but still...)
I envy any and all who can get to either show. *very grumpy now*

that's my birthday... i think everyone should chip in and buy me a plane ticket...
anddddd....ok i'm really kicking myself for this. but i totally COULD go to the san diego concert, but i took forever to decide whether or not i wanted to go to a concert the wknd before finals. and now tickets are 100+. arrrggg and all i really want are seats on lawn anyway.
blah. i'm gonna waste a couple more hours trying to find tickets online though, because this lineup is waaayy too good to miss.
I looked at plane tix last night, too. Far too expensive. Especially since I'm going abroad next year.
I think all of us should start hitchhiking cross-country and meet up in CA. Sound like a plan?
I'm in! The perfect place to have that boardie convention we've all been planning.
and plus...you can help prove to them that my obsession with ok go is completely natural. they seem to think that i'm weird because of it. (psshh! i'm not weird...THEY are!)

We don't have to tell them that it involves OK Go.....there are plenty of other great names playing as well. They'll never know...
sigh franz and ok go. i would love to go.
found tickets for $47 which i am absolutely willing to pay for, but the girl i was going with (and consequently my ride) doesn't want to pay that much. ARRRGGGHHHHH!!
and now i'm going to subtly (or perhaps not so subtly) try to convince my sister who is going to the 6/10 to buy an ok go poster for me and get okgo to sign it for my birthday. (to quote emperor kuzco..."it's my birthday present to me. i'm SOO happy")

Get her to get them to sign a birthday card for you! Those are so much fun!
Also- go to the show yourself, if you're willing to pay $47 for it. Believe me, there'll be people there you'll bond with.
Ok Go, Echo and the Bunnymen, the Hush Sound, the Strokes, and Anti-Flag.
oh man, how I wish I was a west-coaster right now! (or that I could magically go visit my second cousins {once removed} out there)
Om second thought, the 9th is my school-wide semi-formal which I promised my freshman friends I'd go to.
I would so give it up for the Go if they were nearby, but $8 for a school dance is way more reasonable than $500+ for plane tickets and concert tickets.
i got my tickets last night!
but i thought they were only $40? idk that's how much i paid.

Lucky lucky! Were they only $40? For some reason, I thought they were a bunch more...

I'm still proposing we rent a bus or van and just drive over there. Pick up random boardies along the way...it'll be great! Of course, it'll be like mucho expensivo...but I can dream, can't I?! *cries* I want to gooo.
We could always rent a greyhound bus. They go all across country. Each boardie waits at their local greyhound bus station, and slowly we all join each other on that one bus. Ooo, we can drive those nasty evil greyhound bus drivers crazy by singing a lot and demanding they make more frequent stops!
Greyhound is cheap, if you can get used to being treated like cattle and not being able to go to the bathroom for 3-4 hours at a time. Damn Diane Sawyer.
Katy is not having of the dollars. Therefore, this = no-go.
It cost me 65 dollars or something in that range to take a greyhound bus 2000 miles from Newark NJ to Phoenix AZ. I say we all go on a greyhound bus together.
I would sell a kidney for tickets to that show.
