I was, unfortunately, about twenty people back. I just noticed that the bass was out the first two songs, and the backing vocals and keyboards were never loud enough. Of course, my husband is a musician who has taught me to have an incredibly critical ear regarding sound. At first I thought Damian's voice sounded tired (with all the touring, how could it not??) but then he pulled off "Oh Lately It's so Quiet" without a problem and it sounded great. All in all it was still an awesome show, because it was THEM. Are you going to the La Zona Rosa show?

I thought the Austin Stubb's outdoor show was good as far as the band goes, but they got screwed on the sound. Not their fault of course!

I wasn't at the Austin show (obviously...darn Smith...), but I've definitely been to two shows already where I've been like, "UGH. What is UP with that sound?" Very loud bass, to the point where I really could barely hear Damian at points. The problem at the second show (the one at Pearl St. in April) could have been that I was standing right in front of the bass speaker at Damian's feet, hee. But the one at the Calvin in Nov. was particularly noticeable, because their sound was terrible (and not just 'cause Damian's voice had crapped out on him), and Rufus Wainwright's sound was impeccable. Hmmm. Iron Horse Entertainment Group, what's up with that?

Anyway. Um. This was kind of pointless, haha.

I went to the show only to see OK GO. I even had my robot drawing ready to go, but after waiting over an hour, I gave up on them coming out. Not to mention it was PAINFUL listening to She Wants Revenge. I saw on the gallery today some pics that looked like they came out...what gives? How did I miss them?? Did anyone else think the sound was kind of crappy--totally not their fault of course.

Oops, I meant MAY 8th, not June.

completely agree with you on She Wants Revenge, I don't know what it is, I think I just really don't like their lyrics they seem very misogynistic. I didn't go to any of the shows this leg around cause I didn't really like the opening bands but that's just my opinion and it probably doesn't count for anything. I'm sure you'll find completely different people who like their music.

    She Wants Revenge sucks ass.

Yeah, it sucked that I didn't get to meet them. I have only had one pic taken with them and one time had Damian sign a birthday card that my husband had made for me that pictured Damian on the front. Damian got a kick out of it. Anyway, I also don't have tix to the next show (I didn't know it would sell out so fast) but I think my hubby is going to shell out the cash to get some off of ebay. If we spend that much, I am bound and determined to meet them, talk to them, or get into one of these "after parties". Any tips??

After parties: Be in the front row of the show, then volunteer to get Damian a drink. If you're really cool about it, you'll get invited. If that doesn't work, when you talk to them after the show, be COOL, don't ask for autographs, just talk to them like normal people. Also, not saying that you do, but don't dress skanky, just stay cool. I know I don't do this, but I know people who have gone to after parties (some of which with OK Go) and that's what they tell me to do. However, I never can, I'm such a fangirl sometimes.

Sound: Standing up front really helps.

Thanks for the info--my hubby sprung for the tix to the June 18th show at La Zona Rosa. I've never even heard Panic at the Disco but that's not why I'm going, obviously. I hope to get there early enough to get right up front. Are you going to the show?

Oh, you know she is. wink.gif

I'm very eh on Panic!, so I'm kind of glad I'm not spending bunches of dollars to get to a show when they're not playing anywhere near me.

I'm getting there at least 3 hours before the show, so I'll see you there!
