    We kind of had a party of sorts. It was wonderful. My favorite part of the picture is how bored my friend's boyfriend looks in the back.

    I'm sure it was provoked--I don't think he would've flipped out for no reason, but still. There's no call for that. I feel bad cause he's had such an amazing career and for it to end like that? Poor Zidane.

    I watched with my parents--my dad and I rooting for Italy and my mum for France. What a great day.

    Ok, so I live in a heavily italian town. Half is italian, the other half irish. anyways, my friend was in france when they won against brazil and so we were rooting for france to win because neither of us are italian and everyone else in this town is. therefore, when france lost, we were walking around town later that day and my friend was wearing her "allez les bleus" shirt and we kept getting yelled at from cars and stuff. It was pretty funny.

    and Zidane definitely shouldn't have gone out like that. seriously, it was really sad. I just wanna know what they said to him to get him that mad. The Boston Globe thought the whole Italian team had been harrassing him the whole game, and that he was upset at his header being saved by buffon. Still, Materazzi must have said something to him right then that just made him snap. It was pretty sad to see him go off, walking right by the trophy and stuff.

    Congrats to Italy.

    What I've heard so far:

    - apparently Zidane was called a "terrorist" because he's Algerian.

    - he said something about Zidanes mother who is dying of cancer.

    Edit: Okay, in his statement he says it was insults about his sister and mother.
