  • I really really wanna see it. a lot.

but one of my friends doesn't wannasee it at all, she says it'll ruin the first movie. Actually, what she SAYS is, "THEY TURN INTO FISH!"
    I don't get her sometimes.

...they don't turn into fish, do they? Or Octopi?
  • I went to the midnight showing with my friends Ryan and Kevin after Ryan's play last night.

I do have to agree that it didn't live up to the first one, but I'm really eager to see the third one now.

    Damn plot twists. smile.gif

I thought it was good though. I was extremely jealous of Keira for kissing Johnny Depp. I really was.

Also, the three of us were trying to figure out why the monkey could still become a skeleton after the first movie. We talked about it the whole way home. None of our answers made sense, but then again it was 3:30 in the morning.

  • Okay, I'm not reading what everyone else wrote cause ...I don't want to.

I thought the movie was amazing. Special effects were spot on, acting was golden, story line was strong, and I love the way it ended. Suspense rocks my world.

I hate Keira Knightly though and wish she would die.
  • Overall I thought it was a great movie..but extremely long. Captain Jack had a lot of funny parts in the movie. I'll admit that I kinda jumped a little out of my seat when someone popped out (those freaky natives)...usually I sense these things. There was also a lot of confusing moments too. I'm just upset I have to wait like what another year for the next one...there's so many things unanswered.

watch after the credits of the first film. I'll do it in a bit to see it smile.gif

I mean, so I can say for sure without speculation (even tho i know i'm right lol)
  • I really wanted to like it, and I thought it was good, but the pointlessly long fight scenes were hard to stay awake during.

I agree. There was much that they could've cut out on those. But, I suppose it's always nice to watch Johnny Depp sword fight.
  • SO I just found out they're planning to release the next one this time next year (there was a big programme from the red carpet at leicester square). So I've decided I'm going to go, at stupid o'clock, so I can get Johnny Depps autograph. Yeah. Haha. Anyone who's gonna be over here (which probably won't be any of you thinking about it) should come too!

Really? I really enjoyed all the fights, including the three-way sword fight scene. I could've done without the natives bit- amusing, but not at all necessary.

Also.........I think I know who the girl Davey Jones loves is......well, it's a guess anyway.....

(Oh, I saw it again last night, btw. biggrin.gif)
  • I wanna see it!!!! But I have to show the first one to my sister before we can both go to see the second one. My friend's mother has a complete and total fear of Johnny Depp for some reason, even when he's not being Willy Wonka. It's so odd cause everyone else thinks he's so sexy, but she fears him.

Same here. I keep mulling over it and thinking about it and trying to come up with a really definite opinion. My big "wtf?" moment was the whole natives thing- honestly, they could have easily done the movie without that entire sequence. It was amusing, yes, but it wasn't really pertinent to the plot. The movie would have been 30 minutes shorter and a lot tighter without it.

Yeah they definitely could've cut some stuff. The natives, the endless fights, some pointless conversation...I mean it was good but you're right, there definitely were a few parts that dragged and/or didn't add to the movie.

Yes the monkey part is explained after the credits of the first movie. I wish I had stayed through the credits of this one but my ride had to get home.

Explain the monkey thing to me, cause I didn't stay thru the credits for the 1st movie either and I don't own the dvd.
  • He takes a coin from the chest and becomes undead again...

    I already posted that tongue.gif

Also, apparently it was only 5 seconds long, I mean the bit with the dog, so probably not worth it... not like you have the DVD and can just forward thru the credits
  • I saw it!

    It was really really good.

I think someone has an obsession with granny smith apples, though. and I also think they liked seeing Orlando Bloom roll around like a hamster. I mean, really- twice in one movie!

This movie seemed a little darker than the first. I can't really say why. I mean, other than the morality stuff and the desires and such. haha, i guess I can say why its darker. oh well.

also- I LOVED Pintel and Raggeti. I mean, they were funny in the first movie. but in this one? HILARIOUS. really. I thought they (almost but not quite) made the movie for me.

And I wonder if Will knows why Elizabeth was kissing Jack.. seriously, I just hope there isn't too much love-triangle-ness in the third movie.

    that is all.
  • I saw it... I was wowed...

What an effing fantastic film, like seriously, FAN-SMEGGING-TASTIC!!!

The special effects torw my eyes out with realisticness! I never watched through the end of the credit of the first one, but i did with this one. Haha, sooo good!

Seconded on both accounts. It's definitely darker, and probably a little scarier. And I love those guys. wub.gif
  • I just came back.

    WHAT?!

    ....

    ....

    WHAT?!

I honestly shouted at the screen. I was so frazzled that I couldn't even talk about it when I saw a guyfriend after. He just laughed as I made angry sounds. I was only sedated when I was able to laugh at his inability to cook garlic. I still stink of it. Mmm garlic.
  • okay so compare between the 2, which was better? Pirates of the Carribean I or II or are you waiting for III to be the best...I just want your opinion, I haven't seen it yet so I'm going to ignore any spoilers in this topic, just wanted your opinion... smile.gif
  • I like I the best. I actually didn't like II all that much. However, due to the ending, I feel complelled to go out and see III when it comes out.

Fucking Disney and their marketing ploys.
