LOS ANGELES, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Here they go again -- the ever-inventive men of OK Go have lensed another highly entertaining, low budget video to accompany their latest single from 2005's Oh No. In "Here It Goes Again" the quartet perform a synchronized treadmill routine -- and although no one was hospitalized during the making of this video, fans be forewarned, you may not want to try this at home. It is considerably trickier than the band's "A Million Ways" dance. VH1 (today it was #11 in The V Spot's Top 20 Countdown after only being on the channel for a short time) and FUSE have already added the new video, and in it's first two days on YouTube, the clip has been viewed over a staggering half million times and landed the titles of "most commented" and "most favorite." Yahoo's "The 9" also included it in their countdown yesterday. And, Technorati has the video rated as one of the most popular videos linked by blogs. http://doiop.com/okgo/higa/qtWith more than 9 million downloads thus far, OK Go's "A Million Ways" is the most downloaded video in music history. It launched the biggest music group to date on www.youtube.com, creating a viral sensation that garnered features in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, NPR's "All Things Considered" and VH1's "Best Week Ever." While OK Go took "A Million Ways" to the airwaves, appearing on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Good Morning America, "Last Call with Carson Daly" and Fox's "MAD TV," everyone from Filipino schoolgirls to an Irish radio morning show team were busy posting their own versions of the dance on youtube.com, a phenomenon that inspired the band to create the OK Go Dances With You(Tube) Contest, in which hundreds of fans have sent in versions of the dance in hopes of winning a shot at performing live with the band.

will be screened later this month at the prestigious Edinburgh International Independent Film Festival and OK Go will perform with The Automatic at the associated Fringe Festival.
The band performs "Do What You Want," another hit single from Oh No, in television commercials for JC Penney's national back-to-school ad campaign and
"Invincible" has been tapped to be a theme song for the NCAA Saturday Night Primetime Football games airing on ABC this fall. OK Go will perform on the Pontiac Garage stage in New York's Times Square as part of the NCAA Saturday Night Primetime Football launch event this month. They'll also play a special show in their newly adopted hometown of Los Angeles on August 29th at Safari Sam's as part of the Hollywood club's "Check Yo' Ponytail" series.
Upon its release last August, Alternative Press said "all 13 tunes on Oh No could rule rock radio" while Entertainment Weekly described it as "fresh slices of power-chord sunshine" and Time Magazine concluded that "A Million Ways" was "the catchy song of the summer." The album debuted at #1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart (as did their 2002 self-titled debut). In the intervening year, OK Go -- comprised of Damian Kulash (vocals, guitar), Tim Nordwind (bass), Dan Konopka (drums) and Rusty Ross (guitar, keyboards) -- have toured with Panic! At The Disco, She Wants Revenge, Kaiser Chiefs and numerous others. OK Go will tour Europe with Motion City Soundtrack this September.
Dates for a fall headlining tour of the States will be announced shortly.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And ...... right before I started to post this, I clicked on the "Shows" page of okgo.net, and there's suddenly nothing there, which leads me to think perhaps it's being updated as we (I) speak .... maybe??
*Edit: forgot to mention--this came in my Google alerts.

I'm sort of really excited for the next few months of OK Godom.

Oh yes, I agree. I've been apart of this community for almost a year (a full year on August 12), and it's really pleasant to watch OK Go gain so much recognition and to see all the awesome things they do to get that recognition. They really do work their asses off to get where they are, and it's paying off nicely. Not to mention that they have an astounding fan base (particularly us) to help them along with the promoting and what not. OK Go really deserves this.
Mh. I'm trying desperately to repress ever bit of my indie nature to keep my favorite bands hidden. They deserve every bit of recognition they get.
Also, this board is just wonderful in general. I'm not even going to hold back, you guys kind of really rock.
ME TOO.
Please please please let it be before August 24th, please please please.....
I thought "AMW" was only downloaded 3 million times? That's what they said on Vh1.....I mean, I know it's wildly popular and everything, but....9 million times? That's a lot.
I'm really kind of upset that I'm leaving the country right as all of this is happening. I mean, yeah, hopefully I'll be seeing them in Paris, but a fall US tour? That's going to be big...
*put out*
Also, Capitol stop being all like, "zomgzor 'AMW' is awesome and the dancing is great!" when you were the ones who didn't want to put out the vid to begin with.
Capitol Records doesn't deserve Ok Go. Now they need to work their bums off and maybe they'll redeem themselves in the eyes of the Ok Garmy. maybe.
I'm kinda worried about the fall tour... would it be in bigger venues now that Ok GO is so fabulously famous?
I haven't seen Ok Go play live yet at all, and I kinda wanted to see them when they were still playing real clubs and stuff.
ah well. hopefully they don'tbecome a real arena-rock band. cause that would suck. but whatever, I'll deal with it.

Seriously. I don't know how many records their contract with Capitol is, but I hope once they finish it, they get the hell out of there. Any record label would be stupid not to take them. Capitol is going to have to do some major work to redeem themselves.
We need OK Garmy shirts. I've decided.
I would think that the fall tour would be a little larger....I don't know how big the venues will be, though....I'm hoping they kind of wind up like Franz Ferdinand. Franz is pretty huge, but when they play here in the states, they don't play huge venues. Like, I saw them at the The Theatre in MSG and at the Hammerstein, and while those are considerably bigger than the Paradise or Pearl St., they're not huge. There's still kind of this intimacy. And I know fans have managed to meet up with Franz post-show.
I really hope they don't become a real arena-rock band, haha. I can't see it happening. I mean...Damian 's banter would be just so much less amusing if it was shared with thousands of people, haha.....
But, with songs like "Get Over It," which is definitely an arena-rock song, they might get pushed there anyways. and then say "NO WAY" and go back to their own little clubs and such, haha. I do hope they become like Franz in that respect, yah. that would be awesome. Also, places like the Bank of America pavilion aren't that bad. I saw Interpol/Killers there last year and it was ok. Bloc Party, people like that go there a lot. It is seated, though, which would be no fun.
And yes, we need Ok Garmy T-shirts. They'll be the Ok Boardies' unofficial fan club, sort of. but way better =)
Finally, we should boycott Capitol Records as soon as Ok Go's contract runs out. The only thing is, as much as Ok Go has suffered from Capitol's disinterest, they've also benefitted. Seriously, half the stuff they do wouldn't be possible if they were being pushed to become a real "major label band" in the sense of making them more like popular image dictates. Because Capitol doesn't care, Ok GO have managed to keep a lot of their, i dunno, "cred" with a lot of folk, and also stay true to themselves and not what their label wants. So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Oooooh, good point. Hmmmm.
I do have to say....."Get Over It" in a huge arena would be pretty sweet. But not if it happened all the time.
Even if they do hit it huge, one of two things is going to happen: 1) they become like......Bon Jovi or something and continue to be huge throughout their career, or 2) they stay huge for a while, and then it calms back down again eventually. How long "eventually" is, I don't know, but really only relatively few bands can play arenas for their entire careers, if you think about it.
VERY YES. It would be amazing merch as well. Could you imagine OKGarmy shirts at various concerts? Brilliant.
I think OK Go should sign with Serious Busniess Records, but that's just me...
"In other OK Go news, details of the band's next single have surfaced with Here It Goes Again set for an 18th September release."

The next couple months really are going to be interested--I really hope for the guys' sakes that the next single takes off. They've been working so hard for so long, and as awesome as all of us are, they do deserve some major recognition.
