And mine. NOW. They went to my friend's school last spring and I wanted to kill her.

My friend who goes to Bowdoin randomly posted on her LJ, "So apparently OK Go is going to be playing under my window tomorrow.....??"

And then they played at Rutgers, where a bunch of my friends go, and like, none of them went to see them play.

I would have been upset, but I'd seen them a couple days before those two performances, so I wasn't so mad.
  • Oh oh! I have an idea. Mr. Mr. Mr. Jorge, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore should come to the boards and ask us where they should play, and they could plan a tour around us. But they could only ask the boards, not the JC, the JC is silly, and there are too many of them to build a tour around.

    Boy, that sounded selfish....

...oh well, we deserve it more than them. tongue.gif
  • haha yeah we do. coughNEW ORLEANScough. I can personally guarantee at least 5 people in the audience if Ok Go came to Nola while school is in session haha.

At least my friend went. I'd introduced her to Ok Go before so she knew who they were and she said she had a great time so I couldn't be too mad at her.
  • At my school, if a band or group of famous people comes to campus, they promote it for weeks and basically make a whole day out of it. People skip classes to see them perform in the quad, and throughout the rest of the day, there are a bunch of activities like a questionare, radio shows, newspaper interviews, etc. If OK Go came to campus, they would surely bring a huge crowd. I mean Hanson got like half the school, OK Go should get more than that.
  • So after searching for the NCAA Saturday Night Primetime Football launch event and when that's going to be, I found this website, which basically posts a lot of stuff about what OK Go is doing and what's coming up in the next few months, where the JC Penney ads are being played and run, about a supposed gig for the Teen Vogue Fashion U even in October, and about the headlining tour (1st November through 9th December, apparently). And then they reposted the press release.

Um, yeah. So there you go.

Edit: Here's some info on Fashion U. Apparently it's a three day even in NYC with classes on working in the fashion industry. It sounds like it could be big; I kinda' wish I could go....
  • From that article:

  • I'm putting this in here because this thread got on the topic of promotion by the label.

story on album sales/promotion/debate over it

    It includes this:

That's why EMI Music Marketing president Ronn Werre says that in addition to working the company's fourth-quarter releases, the British parent company of the Capitol and Virgin labels will also chase sales on current albums from Corinne Bailey Rae, LeToya, OK Go, KT Tunstall, Korn, Ice Cube, 30 Seconds to Mars and the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
