"St. Patrick's Day" by John Mayer - it's so cute and relaxing, makes me think of Christmas and cozy things. Plus it describes the exact relationship I want and one I feel like could actually happen. Basically it makes me happy.
"Pretend That This Is Fiction" by The Pink Spiders - it's just catchy. I love the singers voice on here and the lyrics in general. Good stuff.
lulu-vise-sondre lerche i like this song because it's in norwegian and is fun to try to sing along to. it's a cute song, with crazy lyrics (translated). like, the first few lines are "one moonlit night in honolulu. it was there that i met lulu. four heads, seventeen legs. and those four heads loved me. and those seventeen legs walked with me in waikiki. yes, those were the days."
dead meat-sean lennon sean is john lennon's kid, so he's gotta have at least a little bit of talent, right? this song is actually kind of depressing, but i like it anyway. he sorta reminds me of elliott smith.
crazy-gnarls barkley does it make me crazy if i really like this song? probably.
firefly ride-ingram hill this is a cute song too. i saw them play this song back in august, and really liked it. they just recently put it up on their myspace, so i've been listening to it a lot, haha.
"Amputechture" By Mars Volta IT LACKS A HUMAN PULSE!
This song is Amazing. I twists my soul, the guitars the vocals the drums everything. Its just so amazing. I've loved it for a loooong time. I just keep coming back to it, and loving it more and more.
Also: http://download.yousendit.com/919945FC30253EB4 Philip Glass' "Knee 5" from Einstein on the Beach (I STILL can't find the entire CD. It's always out at the Bibliotheque national or whatever.
I have probably posted this before, but I really recommend a listening. yes, it's very repeditive (as is most all Glass), but the violin at the end over the Two Lovers speech breaks my heart every time.
I went to Cheap Thrills today since it is my most favorite store in the entire world. I won't go into how much I love it since that would take too long and defeat the purpose of this post.
I had $20 extra and ended up buying Sula by Toni Morrison (since I adored Beloved) and bought Kimya Dawson's newest album Remember That I Love You.
I know how much I love Kimya, but I think this album might be my favorite. It still needs some listening, but it has Underground, Loose Lips, and, one of my new favorite songs ever, My Rollercoaster.
I need to share. Both cheer me up to such a ridiculous extent that it seems a shame not to share them with others.

Oh man, do they have a new CD? I haven't really paid attention to them since when they used to co headline with Michael Tolcher. Never be the Same used to be an obsessed over song.
I've developed an infatuation with Elliott Smith lately, all for good reasons though.
Alameda Waltz #2 (XO) 2:45 AM Say Yes
those four above are my favorites, but I love all of his songs. It's sad that he's not with us anymore, but he left behind some really beautiful music.
Then, on a lighter note, the other song that I listen to a lot is California by Rufus Wainwright. It's a funny song, and Rufus is amazing. The video is great, too.

Those are all fantastic songs. I love Elliott Smith (though I keep it on the DL because for the first few months of listening to him, I couldn't spell his name right. Yeah. Smooth).
I'm assuming you listen to Either/Or and XO then? I know it's kind of a stupid question, but which do you like better? I know most swear by Either/Or, but for some reason or another, I think XO is my fav. of the two. Tomorrow Tomorrow, I maintain, is one of the most beautiful songs ever sung.

I like Either/Or better than XO at the moment, but I don't exactly know why. I'm weird like that though. Both albums hold his best work,I believe.
I don't know, I just love all of his songs. It's difficult not to. He definitely has to be one of the best song writers ever, in my opinion. His songs are so sad, yet so beautiful at the same time. They all hold real meaning, too. Not just to his audience, but to him as well. He wasn't like any other artist, and that's what I love about him.
"Baby, Come On" -Plus 44 | (+44) ['She's such a pretty girl /She's always falling down /I think I just fell in love with her /But she will never remember, remember']
"London's Mine" -White Rose Movement [Take that chance /One More Time /Shout it clear /London's Mine!']
"Hoppipolla" -Sigur Rós [It's in Norweigan, so I won't bother with lyrics.. but it's a gorgeous, gorgeous song. Anyone who's seen the Children Of Men trailer, it's the haunting song at the end.]
"Personal Jesus" -Depeche Mode ['I will deliver /You know Im a forgiver /Reach out and touch faith /Your own personal jesus' Who doesn't know this song, really?]
"Purify" -Feeder ['Push the button /Ease the tension /Purify but take it slow' This band kind of own my soul (or at least half along with OK Go).]

Oh my goodness, Carin! I was listening to that half an hour ago and thinking about how it's such a badass song!
I wish I could come
But maybe I'll go to London sometime because airplain tickets in Oporto are 20€ because some company is making a major promotion.
