Yeah, it was fake. I think it had something to do with the sponsoring radio station or something (I'm thinking the introducer guy was a DJ?), but whatever the joke was, it didn't translate very well.

Yeah, that dude was Ryan Manno aka "the gay mexican" (he is neither, go figure) from Q101. He went to North Central College... I know way more about this person than I should... He led my radio camp (how ridiculously dorky) around the station a few years ago. He just appears out of nowhere like that XD
I was all, "That had to had to had to be fake." At least I sure hope so! I agree; it definitely didn't translate too well...
Yeah, once she said she wanted to talk about it elsewhere or whatever instead of saying "Yes," their acting got really bad. I was convinced up until then and even took a picture of them when the guy was on one knee. Then the acting got bad and she ran off, and I was like, "We've been hosed!!" lol

Hahaha XD Yeah. I was totally falling for it. I gave an "awwwww." But like you said, the acting got so terrible!! I felt duped as well. I clearly came to the OK Go show to see some marriage proposals, dammit! Those bums [shakes fists]

Does anyone have any photos or vids of when Damian read my note???? ANYONE??? Even a tail end of the beginning or end, in your videos anywhere? Or just the dedication of YSDH, maybe?
I WILL PAY YOU FOR IT
Well, maybe not. But SPEAK UP IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING, PLEEEEEAAAASE!!
Sadly, I don't believe I do ;____; Sorry!! I remember that perfectly, though. I can't believe that was you. That's so amazing. I'm sure someone out there in the great wide expanse of internetland has something worth your while In the meantime...
I apologize for the overall craptasticness of this display. It's my friend's LJ, but she already had everything up, so I guess it'll do for now. Hope you enjoy! (And please ignore my positively revolting sweatiness as shown in the latter end of the pictures... I look so gross! Yuck.) We were literally the last civilians to leave the Auditorium (which I thought was pretty neat!).
There are some really good ones in there! Thanks for posting it. I LOVE the one of Damian looking in the camera while he's in the crowd!!! And I totally recognize Dave, and I remember him getting his pic w/Damian (I think it was him--there was another guy who looked a lot like him--brothers?) and getting his arm signed! He was one of the ones w/him right before Jennifer and I were. Cool

What? You look fine. And that is cool I think I recognize the friend whose LJ that is--were you guys the ones talking to Damian toward the end, talking about whether energetic or slow crowds are draining, and he was talking about playing songs five hundred times in a year? I was standing there listening to that conversation.
OOH MY GOD, SHERI, JENNIFER... that is the sweeeeeetest thing in the entire world. I send you both 400 pillows. (How could that NOT be nice? I ask you.) I am almost tearing up. Sob.

LOL Pillows?!?? Yeah, it was really great. Welcome to the board!
ezorvera--Yeah, all the tambs I saw had that sticker on. I didn't see what was on the ones Thursday night, though. Btw, I never mentioned this--I like your avatar

I've been lurking here forEVER, I don't know why I never joined. So let it rest upon your sweet (fucking LUCKY) shoulders to have squeezed me out of my sneaky tube.

Thanks! Damian used to have these cuff links that said OK and GO and when I saw them, I decided to get some bling of my own and I bought those rings. Then when I showed them to him and told him that his cuff links inspired me, he told me that he lost them a few weeks earlier.

HAHA, what an honor! I'm sure Jennifer will feel the same way.

Aw! That sucks! And he probably had them made special. Or maybe they were a gift from someone special. Here I am inventing all these scenarios.
The rings are very cool J orge posted that pic on the blog at one point, didn't he?

They were pretty janky looking. They were made with safety pins, but I don't know where he got the letters from. I have pictures, but it's impossible to tell what they look like. It just looks like a sparkly spot on his wrist.
Yeah, when he was still doing Other People's Postings, I sent it in and he said he would put it up, which he did about a month after I sent in the picture.
There are some really good ones in there! Thanks for posting it. I LOVE the one of Damian looking in the camera while he's in the crowd!!!
I feel so bad because I totally just put the camera right in his face...and the flash was on >.< How rude I guess he didn't seem to mind. His retinas may have... But I was flipping out because Damian was, like, on me at one point when he came out into the crowd. Since the Friday crowd was so much crazier (and not so effing complacent or "compliant" as he said on Thursday), he just sort of got squished right to where I was. Of course, my friend's camera is comletely JANKY and wasn't working properly... I swear I would've had 300 pictures from that minute and a half if I had my nice camera (hell yes rapid fire function!! XD )... So I only got those few. But yeah, when it showed up on the little LCD screen, I was just like, "Oooooooh yes. That's the money shot." Haha. You're absotively welcome, ma'am!!

YEAH! He was the (lumberjack) one getting his arm signed What a coincidence!! Neat! And I don't think he had a brother there [scratches head] Maybe it was his alternate-reality-self!?! [gasp] Worlds were colliding that night.

Awww, thanks You confidence booster, you. ...HOLY DAMN!! Yeah! That was us! You have madly honed hearing skillz!! That's fantastique. I feel like we should've met already!! We were so close that whole time. Haha
Natalie, sorry to be coming to this so long after the fact, but I remember you, too! I was there at the end when you guys were talking to Damian about cities to live in in California, and you asked me if I was with the band. I felt very flattered by that, thanks!

Agreed - thanks for posting! I also overheard that conversation.
Sheri, I want to say hi to you, too. I have been impressed with your prodigious and helpful posts. I had seen your Flickr photos from Woodfield Mall early in my fan-dom, and I have to admit they helped get me hooked! I recognized you from those photos when I saw you at the Chicago shows, and I almost said hello, because I figured you and I are about the same age and I guessed you were some kind of superfan. I envied your two-sided posters and asked how you got them. I have a candid shot of you and toiletdog with Damian from that night, but he looks truly awful (he must have been talking and I caught him at a bad moment). I don't think you'd care to see it, but I'll share if you want.
I should post a picture of me, so you can see whether you remember me, and I will if I can figure out how to do it! (I'm sure it's super easy, but what I'm trying isn't working.)
I wanted to say hi, because I'm going to the Chicago/Aragon show next April, and if you (Sheri, Natalie, Jennifer) will also be there, I'd like to meet up!
BTW, did any of you come to Cincinnati in October? I got them that show! Some people from Cincinnati came to Friday's Logan Square show specifically because they had seen OK Go for the first time in Cincinnati at MY show. I was so happy to hear that! My plan is working!!! It wasn't really my plan at the time, but I've come to be so in love with these guys that I'm thrilled to help any way I can. Hooray!

Well, hi! I am the infamous Toiletdog/Jennifer, and I would thoroughly enjoy A/ whatever picture you took of Sheri and I (are you sure it is Damian that looks awful and not I?), and B/ a picture of you, because I would love to have remembered you from the show. And I've already got my ticket to the next show in Chicago, so I'll definitely see you there.
And yes, I DID go to the Cincin show! It was so much fun being up close and personal. I've got loads of pictures of it up on Flickr. What do you mean you 'got them that show?'
OMG, so how did I never read this thread before???!!!!
Sheri and Toiletdog, I'm so jealous of the two of you - your posts totally gave me chills. You two are both totally gorgeous and you look so great in all your pictures with the guys.

Sorry I took so long to reply; I had to figure out how to post photos. Here's the one of you and sheri (in which Damian looks awful, imo) and one with me in it, so you can see what I look like. Do you remember me from Logan Square?
What I mean by "I got them that show" in Cincinnati is that I'm the events manager for Fountain Square, and when we were planning our big event for Oct 14, we wanted a good indie rock band to round out the lineup. I had seen "A Million Ways" and bought the song months earlier, and I thought of OK Go. I did some research, listened to more songs, and read up on them, which led me to the just-released treadmill video: Three minutes of pure joy. The more I read and watched and listened, the more I liked these guys, and I convinced my boss to try to book them. He did, and they said yes. Because of my job, I got to book their hotel rooms and make their travel arrangements (how cool is that?!). Then I got to meet them, and I've been totally hooked ever since. I really want them to do well. They are too good for this not to take off, and I hope that the show in Cincinnati helped move that along.
Lots of people here have told me they really enjoyed that show. I'm glad you got to see them play here, t-dog. Your pictures are awesome.
I can't wait till April 2, and I'm sure you can't either. We will definitely meet up!
