Yeah, I'm a pretty slow typer too. The exact same thing happened to me. I realized that I never downloaded aim onto my computer (it had died and my dad had to reboot it or something so now it works but I lost a ton of stuff), so I had to do that and I never use aim.
I'm a fairly fast typer (generally around 100wpm), so I didn't have problems with that, I did however have problems with aim, mainly because I was signed onto aim, but I didn't realize that since I was using it in ichat, it wouldn't allow me to use that link to go into the chat, it was confusing.

In the past year, I've found out that I kill computers. I have no idea how. My first computer died somehow, so I got a new one. Then I broke that one somehow and my dad fixed it, but then I somehow messed it up again and while I was waiting for my dad to fix it again, I used one of his computers and it kept freezing on me every 10 minutes. So yeah. Computers don't like me.
Computers don't like me much either, I actually thought I killed this computer (one of the school's macs) like two hours ago, because our teacher put us on "the button" (the thing where we see what he's doing on his computer on our screen), so it went grey for a minute, and I was like "oh no. I killed it!" I really should pay attention when my teacher is counting down!
I was about to go to sleep, but I decided to check the NPR website one last time and I found that they put up the concert and interviews already, but I think you can only stream it.
If you subscribe to the All Songs Considered podcast, there should be a podcast version of the concert up in a few days- either Thursday or Tuesday. It won't be the whole concert, but it'll be at least some of it. And you can stick that on your iPod.
I wrote to the people over at All Songs Considered and they said it would be available for download. It's just that it's taking them so long!! I hope I can put the entire concert in my iPod. if not I am gonna have to figure a way out to convert it to mp3 cuz their dowloads are usually in real player format
Thanks! I already downloaded it. Guess what....they cut out the covers!! I was really looking forward to having thier version of "don't bring me down". Does anyone have a copy of this song with ok go? Or "Neat, Neat, Neat"?
But I'm super excited to have the rest of the concert
I'm listening to it now, but I was wondering, since it doesn't have the covers on it, are the conversations about cacti and dancing monkeys still there? Never mind, I can now hear Damian yelling about how the difficult part of tambourine playing is the backstroke, lol. But I can't figure out how to download it to my computer. It says all you have to do it right click the link, but that's not one of my options that comes up. All it lets me do is listen to it now. Which is all fine and dandy, but I want this for all time, lol...

Well, I don't know about you, but I was so excited to hear that it was ready to download that I was right-clicking on the wrong link Here is where you should be clicking:
Then just save it in the desired folder and you can keep it for ever and ever!
I'm clicking the right one. When I do, the only options I get are Open link in new window, Open link in new tab, Copy link location, Bookmark this link, Properties, Send link, and then there is one I tried earlier that didn't do anything, but I just tried it again and it's doing something... Save link as. So now it's working (my internet was being really evil most of this morning). hmmm... But normally I get more options than that when I right click stuff. blah. As long as I get it in the end.

That's what they did? I noticed that it was about 10 minutes shorter than when I was streaming it, but I haven't listened to it again. That makes me really sad because I love "Don't Bring Me Down" and I wanted to have it on my iPod.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
"Neat Neat Neat" is the thing I was most looking forward to having from this!! It sounded reeeeeallly great when I played it back, but it's got all those freaking "bloops" in it from the chat! ARGH
*cries*
Why didn't I think about Audacity recording the chat noises? Why, why, why????
Oh, wait.
WAIT!!!!!
You can still listen to it as opposed to download it, right? RIGHT????
YES!!!!!!!!!!! The covers are still in the playback version!!!!!!!!!!
I was going to suggest you do just that!!! I was hoping someone would know how to record the broadcast. I don't have the software, but I wanted to put the show on my iPod. Well, the theoretical iPod I'm getting in a few weeks. :-)

Thank you! I made it from a still picture from the VMAs. It was nice.
