that's so great, can't wait 'till fall..... (i should prepare and listen to The Pixies everyday, then I'm probably even more exited than now...and... great!!)
See, I love it when important people show up here!
I was soo pleasantly surprised to find that I'm coming around to the Pixies. I'm frightfully uneducated Pixies-wise, and when I've listened to them in the past, fully wanting to like them, I just didn't. :S (I actually saw them live, opening for U2 back in '92 ... unfortunately, my memory just brings me my impression from that time: "a bunch of screeching." *imagines Damian & Tim setting me on fire* I think the sound was bad, though, so I'm making that part of my excuse ... But anyway) Well, a few months ago I was on my way to work and I really really liked this song on the radio and hadn't a clue who it was--then the DJ says it was the Pixies, "Where Is My Mind." HA! I was shocked; I thought I had listened to Surfer Rosa, but apparently I've only ever heard Doolittle. So it's inspired me to check out more/re-check out stuff I've heard before (if I ever get around to it, that is ... argh). But I absolutely LOVE OK Go's "Wave of Mutilation" from that Italy interview thing. (Thanks to Karen for mp3-ing it!!!)
Dig For Fire - A Tribute To PIXIES is now available on iTunes (US)! The CD and international release will be on November 27th, but if you want to have a listen now, head on over to http://www.alr-music.com/listen/mp3.html
In addition to the 15 track album on iTunes, we also released a bonus EP with more songs. Here are the links to both:
Oooh Madtempest - I saw an article about you and the compilation in the WSJ (I think) recently! I meant to post it but completely forgot. Congrats, I am definitely going to buy the disc!

I finally bought this today. I was meaning to do it for a long time but I thought I had no more money in my itunes account and now I finally realized I actually did have some left. So yeah, I'm probly the last one here to get it but it's SO GOOD. Andy sounds awesome on the keyboards, Tim's vocals are perfect as always, Damian's voice is all syrup, and Dan- man, Dan, I love you.

WSJ Article
Yeah it was an OK article, but it bugged me a little bit... the guy that interviewed me totally got his facts all screwed up... c'est la vie!
USA Today, Newsday, NY Times, Spin, Rolling Stone, NME will all have stuff on it this week or next!

Eeek. Can someone else get it to her? Sorry; the computer that has my WOM mp3 is still in transit on its way to me in America.
If I get the puter before you get the mp3, though, I'll send it over!
I still haven't got it. I's not available in the UK store..
