Portugal is in the top of the list of the where-to-have a great-gig countries tongue.gif
    I'm joking
But the really should come to europe more often because they are starting to have a huge amount of fans over here....
  • who knows...there's a little chance that Ok Go are going to play on this years Hurricane Festival in Scheessel, Germany... I really _hope_ it's going to be true. (that's one of Germany's BIGGEST festivals; with more than 50.000 visitors last yr!). there's a forum on their official site, http://www.hurricane.de/, and many ppl already voted for Ok Go to play there. they're already part of the Hurricane Southside Clubtour this year over here, so chances are probably rising if the tour managers notice how much the fans love Ok Go at the Clubtour.... wub.gif

Umm....they're playing in Brussels on the 23rd....
  • Sorry to hijack your thread, caligirl3, but this wasn't appropriate for the Snow Patrol one since they are not at these shows and I'm not sure the information is deserving of a new thread. BTW, the last show is new. Not sure why these are not up on the OK Go site yet.

    We do, we do.

But I'm going to the Ricoh show in March tongue.gif It cost me a bit much (50 frickin dollars with the fees and everything..) but OK Go will be worth it. I hope. biggrin.gif
Why didn't I go to the Ontario shows back in November when they were relatively cheap?! They were in every city around me except my own...
  • I think OK Go should play Lollapalooza this year.

    I'll be there, that's why.

And not to mention, it would be a lot more kick ass if they played there.

The best ones were the February shows. I saw them in a frat house.

  • I think they should come to Australia. Nyah.
  • So I was talking to the merch guy about this, and finally understood how the guys wind up touring where they're touring. This actually makes a lot of sense, so I don't know why I didn't think of it before.

Anyway. Basically, in order for the guys to tour some where, there has to be a concert promoter who's willing to drag them out there, or if they're affiliated with a local record label and their record is doing well in that area, they may be the ones who bring them out there.

What it comes down to is whose going to pay for them to get out there. They can't just jet off to anywhere in the world; somebody's got to be paying the bills, and, like I said, that means there has to be a concert promoter or a record label who's interested enough to pay those bills. That's why they took the London Koko gig; originally they were only going to tour in Germany, but in order to help finance the tour, they took up the Koko gig.

So basically, they could want to tour in Australia, Japan, India, I don't know where else as much as they want, but if there's nobody will to pay for them to get there or they can't work out some sort of agreement or the dates don't work, etc., they're not going to be touring there, period.

So complaining about it here on the Boards isn't doing you any good. I mean, I'm sure the guys like to know they have fans worldwide, but in terms of deciding where they're touring, it really doesn't do anything. (As far as I know, anyway.) Your best bet is to instead find out which promoters or agencies or local labels handle the band and then make it clear to them that you (and a lot of other people) want them to play by you. And the more popular a band is in an area, the more likely the record company will take notice and foot the bill, so getting your friends into OK Go and getting them to buy their record is also a good idea.

That's how I think it works, anyway.

Has anyone confirmed the sale date for the show at Pepperdine? Apparently we are all confused to when they actually go on sale. Previous threads posted the sale date for 2/12. <-- Not true. I called they said March 1st and through ticketmaster. Other threads showed a date of Feb 21 and only through their box office. Much appreciated in advance. biggrin.gif

Also, will they be headlining? okgo.net shows that they are with Augustana. augustanamusic.com shows that Augustana will be headling.
  • We always knew this in our hearts, but now that Ok Go has a grammy they are officially better than Snow Patrol. And so I really hope that after the Snow Patrol tour, Ok Go headlines forever.
And also, now that they have a grammy, I think more negotiations and stuff will be made, like Jedi talked about, so that when they tour, they can play at more and varied places.
  • New show in Michigan:

    Mon Apr 30 '07 (7:00PM) - East Lansing, MI - Fairchild Theatre
  • ihave7stars, you know that I love you, right? biggrin.gif I was just thinking "Oh great, probably another show in California" and then you find one in my (general) backyard! Yay!!
  • Jedi, you are wonderful. I do love you.
So I'm thinking huge campaigns in all of the places that haven't got tours lined up.

    Londoners - we must unite.
And so should all you others.

We could end up planning OK Go's entire tour smile.gif
    Sorted for life.
