  • Alright guys, I'm really sorry that I haven't gotten around to writing up a full report. It's just that I got like 1 hour sleep last night and I came home from school and slept and now I have work to do. So I haven't really had time to get my thoughts together and do a whole write-up. And I don't even know if I can write it all out now because it probably wouldn't make any sense haha laugh.gif But don't worry, it's coming! wink.gif

And I hope you all went out and followed what OK Go and the other bands said, and voted! haha ok

And in the meantime, I'll leave you with this:
  • 1. How did I miss this already? I'm so lost in OK Go world lately. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Duh *facepalm* How did I skip over that? I even looked at that freakin' pic for a while.

Poor Andy sad.gif But check out this smile!
  • Ok everbody, I finally have a bit of time that I can sit down and try and write this long arse write-up. Sorry in advance if I start to ramble haha I tend to do that.

It's a bit weird though because I seem to be the ONLY boardie that went, so no one can add stuff if I forget anything sad.gif But hopefully it will all come to me! rolleyes.gif

So let me just preface this with the fact that I obviously LOVE OK Go, and I think that Obama is AWESOME so this was such a PERFECT show to go to. Great combination.

I was originally supposed to go with like 2 or 3 of my friends, but 1 couldn't go, and then the other found out last minute she couldn't go. So then it was me and my friend, but whatev, we were soooo excited it didn't matter. So as we leave for the city it is snowing/drizzling. bleh. So we took the train, then the subway and we get down there, and walk around for a bit. With nothing else to do, we decide to walk down to the Bowery, because neither of us have been there, to see what it was like, and see if we happen to see anybody walking in. And at that time it was like 4:30ish. So we walk down, and it's pretty sketchyish, because it's not in like a main part of the city. And the only stores around us were either Chair and Table Warehouses, Lamp stores, or restaurant equipment places, like no joke. When we finally arrive to the Bowery, you would have never guessed a concert was going to be there. There were no lights, no awning or sign that said any event on it, nothing. It was a bit odd. So with some time to kill, we walk back up to the more "populated" part of the city and go to the shops and got something to eat.

Now if you remember, this was an 18+ event. And neither me nor my friend was 18. We thought that was just because it's a voting event and whatever. And we will both be 18 this year, and be able to vote in the November election, but we were still unsure whether or not we'd get in. My older brother was going to come down and meet us, but he actually had tickets to the Daily Show (which was hilarious btw, the one with colbert and conan!) and couldn't make it. So my mom offered to meet my friend and I and since we had an extra ticket, why not. And my mom is really really cool. If you remember, she's the one that got the VMA tickets and waited and got the front of the line at the Soho Apple store show. So i totally did not mind her though. And I know she's really an OK Go fan and just used that as an excuse to go laugh.gif But ya she really likes the boys so that's a plus.

At about 6ish my mom calls and tells me she got there and was heading to the Bowery, so me and my friend finished eating and headed over. We walked so fast because 1. we were SO excited, 2. it was getting darker and a bit creepier (there was this really REALLY creepy dark fenced up lot/alley we walked by...sooo creepy haha) and 3. it was a tad bit chilly haha. So we met my mom on line and there were 3 people in front of us. At this time, the Bowery actually looked like a show was happening, way different than before. We were so anxious and waiting in anticipation to see if we would get in. Then at like 630ish, the bouncers started telling everyone to get out there id's and tickets. We were so nervous. It would have been such a bummer if we didn't get in. When the guy got to us, my mom showed him her id and then said that the 2 of us were with her and he was like are you 18? We said no, but that we would be soon and able to vote. I was hoping he would just look at the date of birth, bc that would show that i would be 18 this year. And the guy looked at our id's and was just like "Is this an 18+ event?" We were like "o, um i'm not sure actually" haha And he was just like ok whatever and moved to the next people. We were SO happy that he happened to be oblivious! haha

While we were waiting for like an hour on line we kept looking to see if anyone was walking in or out. I told my friend to look one way and I would look the other to spot for the band or anyone else. Then all of a sudden, I see Andy walking by us and into the venue. I casually was like "Hey Andy!" (I didn't want to seem like some crazy fan haha although I probably did) and he glanced up and smiled and kept walking. At first he seemed a little upset, but we would soon find out why. Then my friend motions towards the door and I look in a Michael Ian Black, from Stella, is standing there! So cool. And then a couple minutes later we see Andy leave again, and just walk down the street. I desperately wanted to follow him, not in a creepy stalker way, just in a "here's my chance to walk down the street with ANDY and see what he's doing." hahaha But I obviously did not do that. Then a few minutes after that I see David Wain from Stella strolling in. Again, I was like "David Wain!" And he looked up and gave me a smile and kept walking. I also noticed other people from the show, that I didn't really recognize until I saw them onstage. It was just so cool, to be on line and seeing a bunch of the performers walking in and out. Also, we see this guy who was dressed a little oddly, all in black, with black hair and a hat. My friend said to me that he looked kind of like Jack White. I agreed, but he was too skinny and only sorta looked like him. This wouldn't even be relevent, but it comes up again later.

Ok so that's it for the first installment. Hopefully that will tie you over until I come back to write more!

O I just noticed that this is my 1990 post, year I was born! Ok sorry, haha i'm lame.
