It would probably be in your best interest to purchase BEFORE getting there. For those non-Hoosiers, the Indy Speedway is an infestation of hillbillies and drunken debauchery, and I have a feeling that given the traditional "race day" events, it will be PACKED with wife-beaters. To not have to stand in line may save you a lot of heartache (not ot mention we get to find the best standing position before everyone else!).

awww thanks so much I totally missed that part. So all I need is these tickets?
BOUGHT THEM!!
Yep! And you need a ride. Which I am providing. Send me your addy and celly and I'll call you the day of to let you know what time we stand to get there.
I'll be in Chicago Ang will be in Naperville... however, she'd come down, I think...
Well, I'm gonna be heading to Louisville after the show, so I don't think it'd work, unless my friend Peter would be willing to drive me all the way back home.
But I dunno, plans might change. I'll keep you posted.

Oh shit! That's right, I totally forgot... alrighty! Yes, keep us posted
"Forever the Sickest Kids, OK Go and Sum 41 on Coke Zero 500 College Fest."
Wow, it is going to be PACKED, I'm sure. I'd say everyone should arrive no later than four-ish (and bring sunscreen, lest you want a trucker tan). I heard a smidgen of Forever the Sickest Kids two weeks ago and they weren't bad at all; this stands to be a pretty awesome show.
I wish I could say where the stage will be set up, but I have not been to a concert held at the Speedway, so it is pretty much hit or miss when it comes to how close we can get.
If anyone wants to meetup with Christie and I before the show, you are more than welcome to park your butts at my place beforehand, and we can carpool in my lovely Saturn.
The first band is on at 2. So, I'm thinkin' gettin' to the Speedway about 12:30ish if not sooner.
Anybody else gonna get in line for a temporary tattoo or for the CardioChek Free Cholesterol and Glucose Screenings? How awesome would it be if we all got temporary tattoos just for the show? Ok, maybe not.
Hmmm. The Qualifications will be happening from noon to 6pm. Wonder how loud it's gonna be.
Beckysioux, you must have found this nice full schedule. Look under "Indianapolis 500 Schedule" and scroll down to May 17.
Also, this grounds map shows the location of the Coke Zero stage, daily parking lots, and gates. (Ha! I knew I would find a track map!)
I'm probably getting there between 11 and noon. I like to be early.
I'm down for the CardioChek Free Cholesterol and Glucose Screenings presented by Vision Racing. You know now we have to call it that the whole time. Not just "CardioChek," or "cholesterol screenings," but the "CardioChek Free Cholesterol and Glucose Screenings presented by Vision Racing."
And - wait! - at 11:57 am there's a National Anthem duet performed by 500 Festival Princesses. Can't miss that. Meaning no disrespect to the National Anthem, mind you. Maybe to the Princesses, though. Will they wear tiaras, ya think?
edit: P.S. Qualifications will just be one car at a time. Probably with pauses in between. So I guess not that loud. The stage is separated from the track by a few tall buildings/grandstands, which will help block the noise.
Another word of advice: You want to park as close as possible to Gate 6, I'm guessing. This track is a 2.5 mile quad oval. I went to a NASCAR race at a 1.5 mile quad oval a few years ago, and I was totally unprepared for the size of that place. It's far, far vaster than a football field, which was my only point of reference at the time. You don't want to be walking any kind of distance around it, if you can help it.

Yep, that's the schedule I found the neat stuff on.
Were you able to find anywhere on the web page where it lists how much parking will be? I tried to do a search thing, but it keeps telling me that the parking is sold out and it's $20.00, but I'm assuming it's just for May 25th. I see on the map that there is free parking in Lot 7, but I'd rather park in Lot 2. Gah, this is aggravating.

Random, Lot 1C is shaped like Indiana.
haha, someone should spill a gallon of water in the top left corner of the lot to represent lake michigan...
