hmmm. I know someone who finds Chuckie very cute. but then again I think she's bipolar or something...
so ConfessionsOfATeenageDeliquent are u asking for scary movie titles or people specifically? Do they have to be real/nonfictional or fictional characters?
lol Hot Topic??? (btw, i have nothing against Hot Topic, just so u know...)
^hahahaha I like that shop too, but thats cute.
Hmm, well, I need to start today and give a proposal on the issue tomorrow, so I will just use Chuckie, Jason Vorhees, *who i will say honestly I find rather attractive with that mask*, Jack The Ripper and Freddy Kreuger.
But you were right, I should have made it a new thread to make sure everyone saw it, but thanks to anyone who replied I'd completely forgotten Chuckie. (who by the way i think is cute too, and have always thought he reminded me of that geeky chuckie from Rugrats)

I don't get the whole Hot Topic thing. If you're trying to be an individual, why are you going to buy your unique clothes from a massed produced store?

Very good point. I mean, some of the stuff they have in there can be kinda' cool- like, I love the Tim Burton "Nightmare Before Christmas" and and "Corpse Bride" tees they always have. But, like, don't base your wardrobe on stuff you buy at Hot Topic. Go thrifting or cut some stuff up yourself, that's cooler.
Agreed. I still don't get the whole "ironic shirt" thing when they're mass produced... but I think I already went off on that topic.
I just get really annoyed when people by CBGB shirts at Hot Topic. If you haven't been there, don't wear the shirt. They're LOCATION SHIRTS; they're meant to be bought at the LOCATION.... .... ARG. (it's like buying a concert shirt at a place other than the concert... exceptions being the Beatles, Nirvana, &c. for obvious reasons).

ditto. *tim burton rocks!!!*
I can remember clearly being one of the few 12 year olds who shopped there from my middle school and as soon as Avril what's her face came out, suddenly all the girls were like, "so what's that shop you got that bracelet from?"
Next thing I know, I'm seeing girls fully decked out in outfits I've seen the models wear on the HT website.
Mind you, Hot Topic isn't exactly the most economical shop either, most of the bits and bobs I've gotten from there are off the clearance rack. You can find just as great items for like 1/4th the price in second hand shops and anywhere from Target to Chinatown.
It got really annoying but as long as YOU yourself dont fall into the "hot topic outfit" category, then it's all good.
But I totally agree with the whole creating your own look thing. Buy a band t-shirt, cut it up and wear it over that striped shirt from Old Navy. Voila! A non-hot topicy slice of individuality.
'tis the "home of underground rock" and a very popular club in NYC that has been facing that whole "we have to close down due to blahblahblah... SO BUY OUR STUFF" debacle.
All in all, it's awesome (though it has the grossest bathroom in existence) and Hot Topic has been selling CBGB shirts identical to the ones sold on location.

Wow, I'm really glad someone else asked this because I've always wondered what CBGB is. What does it stand for? Also, is it really underground if everyone's heard of it?

'tis very overhyped but a really fun place to hang out at and around. I haven't seen any shows there, so I really can't talk about it in detail, but the, as I mentioned before, have one of THE grossest bathrooms ever. THey have way too many CBGB-related products for their own good (read: not only shirts, but shower curatins and tights with "CBGB's" all over it). However, it's an entirely cool place despite the fact that it's (certainly) no longer "underground." Last time I was there, I was by the bar when two punk-ish guys came in with a case of plumbing equipment in a case and just plopped themselves down on the benches and chatted up everyone at the bar. In short, it can be full of some awesome people as well as (occasionally) some awesome bands (ex. in early days, CBGB's often housed, if I remember correctly, the Ramones).
