to tell you the truth. i think its sad that now theres myspace mobile. why would you need to approve people you dont know on the go?
i really dont want 30 to 48 yr olds as friends.
myspace should only be used to keep in touch with people who live far away, and learn about new bands.

I'm really good friends with a 28-year-old. Not through myspace... through real life.

    Is that weird?
  • I think there are people who, to be cliche, are old souls and just get along with older people better than most their own age. I'm not talking about older people who are likely to show up on an episode of Dateline, but if you're one of those kids who feel like you were born in the wrong era, you may have more in common with someone more mature.

I agree with that. However, I'm not the mature one. He just happens to get along with everyone, is wonderfully spontaneous, and we just get along really well. I don't know why, but he's now one of my best guyfriends.

I've come to realize that age really isn't that big a deal. Some people just really get along.

    Also, to the Roro&Damian pic:
    1) I've admired that coat for a LONG time. Honestly, I've had such a clothing crush on it. Honestly. I get jealous whenever he wears it.
    2) Why did Roro disappear again!? Come back to us darling!
  • Yeah, seriously! She sometimes comes on MSN but I'm always to shy to go "GET BACK ON THE BOAARRRDS!1"

    We should make a petition!

    I'll start:

    Dearest Miss Roro Esq.

GET YOUR ASS BACK ON THE BOARDS BECAUSE WE FUCKING LOVE YOU!

    Sincerely,

    Amy

If one of your spontaneous adventures ever takes you to Ottawa, you should check out Ragtime Clothes on Flora St. (between Kent and Bank St.) They usually have all kinds of coats like that, plus lots of other weird clothes from the 50s/60s/70s.

Thanks for the wonderful heads-up! I plan on exploring the rest of Canada while living in Montreal. Ottowa is a def. go-to location.

Thanks for helping me fuel my coat-loving obsession.

I need to check out some of the NYC thrift stores as well.

You need to bring me along when you do that.

On a somewhat related note (related because it involves NYC and Montreal), my friend Ross wants me to go see the Free in Montreal show/festival thing in Brooklyn this weekend. I have no idea who's playing, what it's about, or where in Brooklyn it is, and I'm kind of flat-out broke, but I kinda' wanna' go.

But I also kinda' wanna' go to the two area Lashes shows in August. So maybe I'll save for that.
  • No problem! Also:

Is the Brooklyn thing at the McCarren Park Pool? I know Bloc Party and Secret Machines are playing tomorroow, Of Montreal and Irving on Sunday. I kind of really want to go, but I've never been to Brooklyn and am a tad frightened (not of Brooklyn itself, but of the fact that I'll get lost and be forced to become a hobo).

Oh, a coat expidition is SO necessary.

I think this needs its own thread.

Also, I think we should start an "ANDY START BLOGGING AGAIN DAMMIT OR WE'LL THROW THINGS AT YOU DURING SHOWS" thread.

Oh, that sounds familiar! That's probably what he's talking about.

If you decide to go, we can venture together. Though like I said, I can't really afford to get into the city....

And dammit, I missed Bloc Party and Mew this week... mad.gif

    It will be done.
  • I knew I could count on you. biggrin.gif
  • It's weird cause today my friend at work was talking about how she put up a bulletin yesterday on myspace and she was confused that mine isn't working...why is it working for some and not others?

People with facebook should friend me too: Sarah DeCris...(looong last name) at Tulane.

You are going to have such an awesome time at McGill, I definitely would've applied there if I had the ability to withstand cold haha. Woo college!
