However, his appearance in Equus spawned this convo with my mom: Mom: "So, have you heard about what's-his-name in Equus?" Me: "Yeah. I think it's kind of silly. They're getting all this press just because he's Harry Potter and now he's naked." Mom: "Have you seen the pictures?" Me: "Yeah. Eh. I don't think he's that attractive." Mom: "What! I think he's really hot!"
ALSO! After another Harry Potter-themed conversation, Ken and I were deciding which of our friends would be in what house in Hogwarts. I would be in Ravenclaw, he said he would be in Hufflepuff ("I've come to accept it. It's something I just need to deal with").
What house would YOU be in?
In the film, I was in Hufflepuff. But that wasn't sorting hat based or anything, that was just coz they needed us on the Hufflepuff table lol. And there were no Hufflepuff cloaks that fit me so I had to wear Hermione's and they just changed the badge for me lol. So maybe I'm kinda half Gryff?

Am I the only one who doesn't find Danny Radcliffe attractive at all?
He just annoys me a lot. And he's not really a good actor.
(I hear he got good reviews in Equus, but whatever, I won't believe it 'til I see it. Figuratively. I don't really want to see him in Equus.)
Nope, I think he's pretty odd looking tbh. And infuriating. But I think it's kind of good that he's branching out to do something different like Equus. It's gotta be more stimulating and challenging than Harry Potter, anyway...

Whaaaaat. You were an extra in Harry Potter? You're pretty much my favorite.

Haha! Yup, my dad works in films so he got this woman he knows to get me on the second film. I'm in the christmas feast scene, somewhere lol. You'll never find me.
Daniel is not attractive, and I like destroying things so I think I'd be in Slytherin. Although I've taken those online sorters and I generally get put in Ravenclaw.
Walks of Shame are soooo amusing. I want Harry to figure out about Hermione and Ron when she does one in book 7.
p.s. That's awesome that you were an extra in HP!!

So Electra, are you saying that if Radcliffe had at some point hit on you, you would have been able to use my all time favorite insult: "My Dad makes me play with you," and it would have been true? Love it.
I would have been in Ravanclaw, too. Speaking of looks, who's the guy that plays the Griffindor Quiddich capt? I though he was a cutie.

the whole "good always prevails" thing only applies to the battle between the forces of good and evil in the world, not necessarily in every person
QUOTE (jedi_grrlie @ Apr 19 2007, 06:49 AM)
Right. I think he´s still working as a double agent or what-not and if he hadn´t done what he did, then his cover would have been blown. And Dumbledore had to die, whether it was by Snape or somebody else, because it´s a necessary part of the hero cycle. Obi-Wan Kenobi? Gandalf? Same thing.
And even if he is evil in book six, I think he´ll come back in book seven.
I honestly don't think Snape has ever been good, and now that he's removed the one reason to pretend to be, I honestly think he'll be just as brutal and willing to kill as the other death eaters
QUOTE (jedi_grrlie @ Apr 19 2007, 07:01 AM)
Right. The only truly evil character is Voldemort. Everybody else is just differing degrees between "good" and "evil."
Well. Okay, maybe the Death Eaters are all evil, too, but they´re also human, which means that they have human faults, so they´re not really 100 percent evil. Voldemort has transcended beyond that to being something superhuman, so you can´t say the same for him.
That´s also why I don´t think Harry´s going to die in the last book. So the kid has gone up against the only truly evil character for 17 years now and his reward is being killed off? It´s also against the principle of the books. But that´s a completely different topic of debate.
Voldemorte has faults too, he underestimates the power of love over and over, remember? It's not having faults that keeps people from being 100% evil, it's their motives. Dumbledore even said "it is not our abilities that define who we truly are, but our choices" (that's paraphrased of course), and honestly, the Death Eaters who are such out of a lust for blood and power rather than out of fear are probably just as evil as Voldemorte, their faults make them seem more human, but they don't make them any less evil.
I definitely think Harry will die, not only as a martyr in a "you seem twice as heroic if you don't live to tell the tale" kind of way, but also because it's the only way to make it so that nobody else will try to continue Harry's story, or try to make J.K. continue his story, his story has to end with the last book, in my opinion at least.
QUOTE (tonetoile @ Apr 19 2007, 02:21 PM)
I thought so too until someone brought up the theory that Harry is a horcrux and therefore has to die in order for Voldemort to die.
I also kind of like that Harry is definitely not all good. He has so many faults, and that's what makes him such a good character.
I definitely don't think Harry is a Horcrux, for several reasons, first, I don't think Voldemorte would trust putting a part of his soul inside of Harry, and if a part of Voldemorte's soul was residing in Harry's body, I don't think Voldemorte would have been quite so keen to kill him all these times, second, I'm betting Voldemorte had already planned out exactly what all of his Horcruxes would be when he killed Harry's parents, and although he'd thought that it would be a significant enough kill to warrant the creation of a Horcrux, he hadn't expected Harry to live through it, and thus wouldn't have planned to make him a Horcrux, and third, Voldemorte hasn't had access to Harry for a long enough period of time to make him a Horcrux, so I don't think it would've been a possibility even if he'd wanted to make him into one.

HAHAHAHAHA. We could solicit the help of some teenage boys and rewrite the novels accurately.
We'll call it Harry Potter and the Unfortunate Body Hair
Maybe one of his buds is a horcrux, i mean she always seems to tie neville into the story, i have a feeling hes more important than suspected... or im totally wrong and hes just there for comic relief
I definitely think he'll be important, but I don't think he'll be a Horcrux, maybe it'll be something where he's the one person standing between Voldemort and Harry, and he dies to protect Harry, or something like that, I think no matter what, Neville is going to go out fighting!

My Mom called Daniel Radcliffe hot. Whaaaaaaat
I hate it when my mother does that, there'll be guys my age and she's like "he's turning into some an attractive young man" or "he's getting really cute" and I'm like "mother! You're 50! he's 19! EWWWW!". Trauma. It's even worse when I agree with her.

And Malfoy is the sweetest guy ever, who was with his mom hahah!!
Tom Felton is a good actor, definitely one of the best when it comes to the young characters!
