Well I hope things end up working out!

lol i don't LIKE needles, but I don't dislike them either. I love walking out of the donating van with a big ass bandage around my arm and a heart shaped lollipop. It's a fantastic feeling. Like, "I've been drained of half a litre of my blood and saved three lives today, what did you do, biatch?"

Haha. They give my dad shirts and stuffed animals. I have a collection of the stuffed animals (haha kind of sad, I know).
I kind of would much rather donate blood than blood platelets, because after they take the platelets out, they put the blood back in you, and they messed up with my dad's by not having the needle in the vein, and his whole arm looked bruised and hurt pretty badly.

I love my O+ keyring. It's in the shape of Australia and it owns. Ick putting the blood back sounds awful. I'm just happy leaving a little emptier. Plus for the next 24 hours you can tell people ""I can't do that 'cause I just donated blood".
  • Haha smile.gif

I'm not entirely sure what they do with the platelets, does someone know?
Aren't platelets the things that help blood clot so you stop bleeding?
  • I honestly have no idea. I should look into it, 'cause I'm pretty sure you can do it more often than blood donation which is every 3 months here.
  • Yep, you can, that's one of the reasons why my dad does that instead.
  • I might sound ridiculously weird but I love the scars in the bend of my arm from the donations. I probably look like a heroin addict but I think they're awesome.
  • You get scars? I wasn't aware of that.
I'd actually be proud to have them.
  • well not scars in the sense that they're big, white and odd looking but you can basically see small lowered dots on my arm.
  • Gotcha. Do you like them because you are proud of what you do, or for another reason?
  • Yeah, partly 'cause I'm proud and partly because I'm easily amused lmao.

    I assume this is me?

Thanks. I took a nice long smelly bath (but not too hot, it was 103 today!!) and I'm actually feeling a lot better.
It's a good thing really, it just kinda sucks right now.

Anyway, I like the little dots in the bend of my arm from giving blood too. smile.gif
And yes, platelets help the blood clot when you get a cut.

You assumed correctly! I'm glad you're feeling better smile.gif

I wonder if my dad has those dots...? Either I could sneak in his room and try to take a look without waking him, or I could just wait and ask tomorrow...I think I'll pick the latter laugh.gif
And thanks for the info on blood platelets!
  • I'm going to complain about people giving me shit about how picky I am about guys. To be honest, I'd rather spend my life looking for something that's not there than settle for something less.
  • I want to complain about all the guys I like already being in relationships. Hmpf.
  • I would like to complain about how I won this, but didn't know and am now left with nothing but saddness.
  • Aww damn. That blows dewd.

I'd like to complain about the fact I didn't meet OK Go. I mean, sure, Damian nearly squished my hand when he pulled himself back up on stage and I had to resist the urge to untie his shoelaces when he was infront of me during Television, Television but damnit I didn't get to meet them.
  • Sigh. Want to see OK Go again.
