  • EEEEE!!!

    I'm here!

I've been studying all week. Such a bitch. I have my final exams at the moment, so that's why I haven't been on much lately.

OMG! Jacqui! We got them! And my friend, Danielle, got her Sydney tickets too! So you guys will totally have a chance of meeting as part of the TSA (the Sydney Alliance!). Wheee! There are four of us going to the Brisbane one. So awesome!

And guess what?! When we went to the Klaxons on Saturday (thanks for the comments Kalinda and Angela on my LJ!) we saw a Paul Banks lookalike! No joke! He looked EXACTLY like Paul. So damn hot.

Oh I wish I could click on all those links and videos! So tempting! But I have to get back to the books sad.gif

Have a smashing time Angela! We will miss you and all your }:] !!

oh, jp says he'd love to go! would any of you like to take him for the week? he doesn't want to go to camp with me and he'll be totally bored at home...

omg, and that's barely under 1000!!! plus, i need money for the tickets and the hotel and the stupid siblings i'd have to bring along =/

aw, he totally looks hardcore. wub.gif i love that spin shoot!!! and it's raining? that's so sexy!! it's been kind of cloudy here, but i don't think it's going to rain sad.gif

haha, you totally have enough sexiness to make up for my absence, no worries! (i need to practice tongue.gif)

Oooh I'll take him while you're away! haha Imaginary!Sam just ran off to ask Mum if it's ok. I'll get him to go see you off and bring JP back to our place on monday. Is that alright?

Haha, get your sister to pay for it! She's awesome like that ;]

I had to deliver pamphlets in the rain sad.gif That wasn't sexy. I was sopping wet and I'm pretty sure all the delivering was for nothing since the papers got just as wet as me!

Aww! You're getting really good at it! <3 omg you have to teach me U.S. slang ohmy.gif

Yucky exams sad.gif *sexy IWI good luck vibes!* biggrin.gif

Ahhh!!! I have three others (four altogether) coming with me! And what's really exciting is that by feb my friend can drive us all there. There will be no parental involvement whatsoever. I hope I get to meet Danielle, she seems really nice and she must be cool if she's a friend of yours smile.gif

I finished Arrested Development! I was actually really sad when the final episode came on. Then I watched the special features and it was so adorable, the guy who played GOB gave this cute little speech and you could tell that he was about to cry. The poor things, they didn't deserve to get cancelled. It's a really good show!
  • awh, sorry for non-existing guys, you're right that last time I came the boards were down, but other than that I've just been super-busy. as always.

Hope you're all having fun and all...

ack, I wish I could stay, but I really need sleep sad.gif

    see you guys! wub.gif

(ps Kalinda, how was Boston? I'm sorry you came for all the horrible weather, but was the rest fun?)
  • School loves to interfere with our Interpol thread. I have a ton of work to do, but I keep procrastinating and coming here. Good luck on your exams Jodie and to everyone else with their school work! I'm sending IWI luck to you guys (and some to myself).

It was so much fun! The weather did suck. I was pretty much soaked from head to toe even though I had my umbrella and raincoat. We spent a lot of time inside two different Starbucks so we could be somewhat dry and to eat. We visited Newburry Comics and my friend gave us a tour of MIT. I also ate at Dunkin' Donuts for the first time. The Superdrag concert was amazing though. We were right in the front. Tom (bass player) said that we probably get the award for traveling the farthest. There were people from Colorado, Texas, and a few other states too. I'm also quite fond of your public transportation. I pretty much love any city with good subway systems (like London and Tokyo). I'm really sad that I couldn't stay. My sister and I pretty much decided that we have to go back when it's not raining because it would 100 times better.

Good news! I think my sister is becoming an Interpol fan. At first she didn't understand why I liked them so much, but then she asked me if I had some Interpol songs because she wanted to listen to one of the songs that they played when we saw them (Rest My Chemistry). Why couldn't she have decided that she liked them earlier? Then I wouldn't have had to go to the concert by myself.
  • sad.gif School is so mean! Keeping us all apart like this. It's awful
I listened to a song about Boston today (not the fix is in ;] ) It was cool and it made me think of my Milky but I didn't know Kalinda was there too!! ohmy.gif wub.gif
It sounds like you had a great time! And yay for your sister. I think mine would like them if she wasn't 11. I don't know any other kids her age with good taste so she's excused... at least for the next couple of years...

    Some danners for Milky:

  • YOU GUYS!!!

    OMFG!!

AAAARRRRGH!! I have such bad news!

I'M NOT GOING TO SEE INTERPOL!!!

    Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh!!!!

Okay, this is what happened - my family were planning a trip to Japan for early next year, and I always knew that making Interpol was going to be tight, but now that my flights are confirmed, I most definitely will NOT be able to make it. Because my flight gets back to Brisbane on the 20th and then I was thinking that POSSIBLY I could make the Sydney one, but by then I'd have no money and be all jet lagged.

    :cries: WHYEEEEEEEEE!!!

    I need a cupcake.
  • OH MY GOD JODIE!! sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

    *hugs and kisses and cupcakes*

I don't know what to say... I'm so sorry... Hey! Japan will be super exciting! Heck, maybe you'll be able to see Interpol in Japan?! ohmy.gif

Awwww you must try to come to Sydney! It doesn't cost that much and you can sleep in line?

    image
    smile.gif
  • ^^Thanks Jacqui! That cupcake made me feel a lot better. You're so sweet!
But I've come to terms with not being able to go. I find it helps if I don't think about it. Haha, it'd be totally awesome if I could come to Sydney, but it's just not possible sad.gif
And as I was trying to cheer myself up by NOT studying and watching episodes of Veronica Mars instead, what's the song in the background of one of the episodes? Oh so faintly, I hear "Slow Hands". And on the one hand I'm cheering because it just proves that this show has the best taste in music EVER! And on the other I'm feeling super depressed because I was thisclose to seeing them perform it live!

    GODDAMMIT!

But in other news, you've finished watching AD? It's genius isn't it? I was going to suggest, when you talked to your AD friend about it and the reasons why you liked it, you'd be able to mention things like the Bluth Chicken Dances, Franklin, Tobias the NeverNude, STEVE HOLT!, the BlueMan Group or the sad Snoopy Walk. And I just thought of those things in like two seconds!
  • awwh, yay Dunkin Donuts and MIT and Newbury Comics!! If you go to the Newbury Comics on Newbury Street, you can walk down Newbury Street and visit all the really nice stores, and most of all the fairy store wub.gif so great.
I love the MBTA too. It used to scare me, mostly cause I used to be afraid of trains, but then I realized that it could be much worse. aka when I used the subway in New York City while visiting my grandparents... although even that one isn't too bad, I don't think.
Anyways, glad you enjoyed Boston, Kalinda!! and yes, it is more fun when it's not raining.
although my friend and I are cursed, every time we go into boston for a show, it rains. except for Harry and the Potters. not sure why. smile.gif

ahh JB you find the best Daniel pictures wub.gif thank'ee!!

Lola, that's so sad! I know how you feel, though- I refused to think about it at all, even while I was on this thread. But the wait for the Aussie news was so long, and then to find out you can't even go!! ohmy.gif sad.gif I'm really sorry...

I figured out how to blend pictures in Photoshop and have pretty much spent the whole afternoon practicing with pictures of Paul. I shall share some of the better ones with you guys cause they're f-in sexy (if i do say so myself)

My sister gets the credit for those. She spent the whole morning making them and the frosting was being really weird. It was our tenth OK Go show back in March, so we made cupcakes and gave it to the guys. We also had apple cider and mini-champagne glasses so we could celebrate after, but they didn't come out. Damian was sick and they had to leave early to get to LA anyway.

Those are so pretty! I like the first one the best. The second one looks like his soul is leaving his body or something.

Hmm you yanks ( tongue.gif ) talk about apple cider quite often. I don't think I've ever had it... I don't even know if you can buy it here!

Thankies! I love the first one too. I like how bright it is. Haha, it does look like his soul or something. It must be the "rocking-out Paul" trying to get out again, heheh.

    I have a few more:

Haha, maybe I should try doing it with other people. I was only using Paul in the first place because I have the most pictures of him. Now it's just freaky blink.gif

edit: OK, so I'm not that creepy... I made one for the g-man. To sort of balance everything out...

    It's actually kind of scary
  • ^^It's a little bit scary, but I like it.

I'm actually at 13 shows now. I'm sure they loved the cupcakes. We always bring them things when we see them. It first started with the audioblogs and I guess that kind of trained us into always bringing them gifts and food. Plus, I'm always complaining to them and Mike Kent about their age restricted shows, so I feel like I should bring them something to make up for all the headaches I'm causing them.

I looked on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cider) and I guess Cascade's 'Apple Isle' Sparkling Apple Juice is your equivalent of our apple cider.
  • Awh 13?! *jealous* So Mike Kents the guy I should have been complaining to eh? laugh.gif Did he ever manage to help you out with getting in and what not?
I had planned to bring them a present when they finally came to aus but then they went and made the only Sydney show age restricted so I decided not to. sad.gif

Danke! Oooh I'm going there! biggrin.gif I'll definitely have to grab a bottle while we're in tassie
  • Aww thanks you guys. Just reading this thread is already making me feel better. Thanks Milky for the kind words!

And wow Kalinda! All for me?! That is just too special. They look delicious! I'll have to share some with Imaginary!Paul though. I'll have the ones that say "ok go" on them and he can have the ones with "10" on them. Because it'll be ten years before I ever get the chance to see Interpol again! Waaaaaaaahhhh! Random: That's what the Arctic Monkeys drank when they were here and when we tried it afterwards, it was yummy.
  • aww I love apple cider
it's best if you make it yourself though... you heat up apple juice and throw a bunch of spices in it (i forget which ones, haha) and it's yummy.

Kalinda, I too am insanely jealous of your Ok Go record. the only time I saw them, I had to drive three hours up to my brother's college in Maine, because all their shows in Boston are either age-restricted or opening for some other band that sells out really quickly, and I've been busy anyways. dry.gif But hey, at least I've seen them!

Well, there were two 18+ shows at the same club and I got in with no problem even though I was 15 because the place isn't that strict unless it's a 21+ show. The 21+ show that I went to was at a Hard Rock Cafe so it's not like they had actual security or anything, but Mike got my sister and I in. My friends hid in the bathroom and were able to get in as well, so technically we didn't really need his help.

I am very lucky when it comes to OK Go. I am also insane, determined, and have laid-back parents, so all of that combined equals a high show count.

Anyway, I've decided to keep a Dave Pimp Hat Watch. After watching a video of Interpol in Lisbon, I can confirm that Dave DID wear his hat on November 7.
