  • I may have only lived in Melbourne for five weeks, but I'm siding with every other clever person in the world who says we're better than you guys.

sydney has been voted best city in the world by some international poll. woot woot!

That's strange, seeing as Melbourne is obviously better.
  • HAH! sleep.gif

don't be silly! we have the big bridge and the funky white building and the island zoo and APEC, what has Melbourne got, huh?
    shops.

    that is all.
oh actually you get the comedy festival, i suppose that's pretty good.
but it still doesn't beat sydney.
  • Ross Noble lives in Melbourne. Need I say more?
  • Yes. We have ALL of the Chaser!

C'mon, the people have spoken. You just have to accept it.

(although Ross Noble is a legend)
  • You may have Chasers, but WE have Harry Potter.

Yeah, that's right. When Harry Potter decided to buy a house in Australia he decided he'd rather live in MELBOURNE, biatch. Harry Potter is smrt.
  • Boyakasha!

Oh and hey, I recently obtained signatures from Chas and Andrew of The Chaser, woo-hoo!
  • pfft Harry Potter is hardly an example of high intelligence
Poor thing has probably never been to Sydney and so doesn't know how excellent it is!

Where does the PM of the country choose to live, huh? That's right, Sydney.

    And he's been everywhere!

You're proud of the PM, dear? 'Cause you know... you can keep him.

And Harry Potter has totally been to Sydney, he just realises that Sydney blows.

Meanwhile, does anybody know wtf the leaders wore for the APEC photo? I fail to see the Australian aspect of it. Maybe if they were all wearing the acubra's they supposedly were given I'd get it, but no one would ever look at that picture and say, "OH! That was when they were in Australia!" (OK, not true 'cause the Opera House is behind them but you know what I mean)
  • I'm far from proud of the PM but he is the leader of our country.

I haven't even seen the shirts yet. I'll go have a look...
    edit:
    I see, Drizabones.
I guessed they'd wear them. I was really hoping for Surf Life Savers uniforms sad.gif Everyone would get that!

Yeah but regular leaders of our country DON'T live in Sydney, our current leader is just a fucking arsehole and won't live where all the leaders that went before him lived because he's a toss pot.
  • Brisbane owns both Melbourne and Sydney.

We've got a dirty, gross river running through it, a shitload of ugly buildings in the CBD that follow no aesthetic theme (except for I guess, ugly), and a whole heap of northern suburbs just PACKED with bogans. So we win.

Anyways, I joined an anti-Bush rally on Wednesday. It was teeny. About 50, max in the middle of the park in the city. It was interesting. I'd never done something like this before, but I'm unsure as to whether we left any mark in the general populace or not.

Wow, you met the Chaser boys? Oh I hope Julian and Chas don't get into too much trouble for the stunt they pulled. From Downer's comments, it sounds like he's a secret fan of them! Haha!

Yeah, I wouldn't brag about that. Saying that just further proves my point, hehe.

Aww brisbane has you! that makes it wonderful smile.gif

Did you see Gary Oldman at your rally? I hear he's getting around at these things tongue.gif

Downer was hilarious when he talked about it! He definately has love for them.

I met them at a signing, Chas wrote, "I'm really very sorry about this" or words to that effect and Andrew said something like "What a warm and generous person you are, thank you." haha, he kept telling me how kind I was which became awkward, seeing as i'd never met him before.
Well, actually Andrew is the uncle of a girl i know but i'd still never met him before.

I also saw Julian running around the city once, I can't remember what he was doing and I saw Andrew, again, and Chris at Dead Caesar. The only one I am yet to meet is Craig from the avatar.

Oh, and to the deluded Melbourners, get over it. The poll has been taken. You lost.
Plus you have my annoying prick of an uncle there and as far as i'm concerned, that's an automatic fail.

(but, that doesn't mean i don't love you guys anyway)

There, there, my child. One day you can be as cool as I and leave South East Queensland for a land that is a thousand times better.

    Shucks JB, you're sweet!
No, I didn't see Mr. Oldman at the rally. Just a bunch of scary, unwashed people and uni students, haha! But Paul kept me safe...oh wait, this isn't the Interpol thread, ignore that last part!

When God, when? I like the fact that if and when I do do this, I'd be steadily moving southwards. But I draw the line at Tasmania. Not that I have anything against Tasmania...*cough*

Everyone should draw the line at Tasmania. That's why they're inbred.

Meanwhile, I'm gleeful that there's no fucking way Howard can win this year. It's not happening. His own party has turned against him, no matter how they try to spin it.
  • My family are trying to make me go to Tasmania! I told them i'm afraid of the bogan inbreds and they just laughed!

    I'm glad you guys understand.

Serves Howard right, he should have given it up ages ago. I think everyone is just sick of him.
  • The man was greedy. If Beattie, Bracks and Carr can step down...
