  • I am so angry right now that I can't even breathe.
    McCain, you monster!
Every woman who votes for him just for Palin is a moron!
  • I can't even believe this.

Dear morons who think genitalia determine a good leader,

    - Has scarcely served as governor for two years, and is younger than Obama (whooops, there goes your inexperience angle!)
    - In the middle of a scandal
    - Pro-life controversy
    - Married to a man who works for a GIANT OIL COMPANY

THAT'S who you want in charge the free world should McCain die in office (which is really not unlikely)?
  • Extremely pro-life and yet in favor of capital punishment (I've never understood how those two could POSSIBLY go together!), and anti same sex marriage.

The Deep South are going to love her. Oh fuck.

Ahh. Same reason we care about saving dolphins. Babies are cuter than criminals.

But yeah. I had a similar reaction. I read a biography on her and I already can't stand her. She Is Vile.
  • This is a real insult to women- shows contempt. This woman comes nowhere near to Hillary. The reason Hillary inspired so much passion, whether for or against, was because she had the ability, the capacity, the brilliance. Love or hate her, she was quite something- and this Palin is nothing like her. That McCain just throws somebody out there shows that he just. doesn't. get it.

Good grief. Palin was a beauty pageant winner and a sportscaster. Hillary Clinton was and is a lawyer. Palin governs snow.

Thx, Kay, for posting about the scandal- I didn't hear about that, and now I hope everyone hears about it.

As a Politico blogger said, I just can't wait until Biden, who has a reputation for his keen political knowledge and his speaking skills, says "You, Sarah Palin, are NO Hillary Clinton!" That's going to be a really interesting debate.

But, yes. The Bible Belt doesn't care about her ability to speak to Putin and Ahmadinejad, to deal with war on TWO fronts, the weak dollar and a mortgage crisis, or her love for oil or her love for animal fur...
    It's 2000 and 2004 all over again.

But you know, how could someone with a 4 month old baby with down syndrome possibly put herself on the campaign trail and say she's family oriented?
  • Ugggggh. She reminds me (in poise and speech) of an out-of-touch 50s housemom. (Apologies to all moms who were housewives in the 50s.) Saying that climate change doesn't exist??? Come ON, that's so 1990.

On a positive note, I'm sure we can all agree that Obama's speech the other night was superb, for want of a better word. Despite being the immense cynic that I am, I was very much moved. (I believe he even addressed the cynics, saying we're used to getting the same ol' same ol' from the government... which is exactly how I was feeling.)

Between his speech and the others (esp. Hillary's. I think it speaks loads that what have been called "the best speeches of her career" are those for Obama), I think it was an all in all fantastic Democratic Convention.

  • If this is a thread about Obama, why are we going on and on about McCain's VP? Shouldn't we discuss Bidden a bit?
  • I LOVE Biden. He's a great senator who has been beloved of the state for quite some time. The state that I live in, even. biggrin.gif Go Joe Go!

I like Beau too, he's not only a good atty. general, he's smart enough to pick some really great staffers who are top notch. I actually had the pleasure of meeting Joe (well, shaking his hand) at the Party victory celebration on Election Day '06 when Beau won atty. general.
  • I know that we've moved onto Biden, but I found this article on Feministing and it pretty much wraps up my views about Palin:

    OMG NOOOOOO!!!!! WHAT???? That's HORRIFYING!

    Is this bi$ch for real?
  • Well, the republican'ts have descended upon us here in Mpls/St. Paul.
    Hookers and blow abound!

I saw 2 Mcain stickers on SUV's while I was out and about today.

That makes a total of 3 McCain stickers I have ever seen, as opposed to the HUNDREDS of Obama stickers on bumpers. I'm not exaggerating.

  • Ha ha, must be interesting having that sort of thing taking place in your town. During the last election, Tempe was the site of the 3rd debate. What a hooplala that caused! I had Republican friends who wanted to see Bush at the baseball stadium and Democrat friends who wanted to see Kerry at the park. I actually went with them to both. My brain exploded.

Wow yes..seeing Bush anywhere would be cause for immediate brain explosion!
I've heard that he won't be at the convention this year, supposedly because of the hurricane. After his Katrina debacle I guess he has decided to actually at least try to look like he gives a shit.
  • The last convention in Boston (2004?Democrat? I don't actually remember, but I think so?) was INSANITY.
I was somewhat too young to understand it all, but it was definitely huge.

Mostly I remember all the ridiculous protesters outside and everything. It was scary.
  • Yep, the 2004 Democratic Convention was in Boston. I remember drawing Red Sox/Yankees comparisons because the Republicans were in NY.

    Ruining my wedding. No Lie.

Stupid Republicans, ruining my wedding with their stupid convention. I HAD THE DATE BOOKED FIRST, JACKASSES.

    /silliness.
  • they took your juuuub, i mean wedding venue
  • Some politician at the convention just said on the news, in regards to Palin, "Oh, the people in Canada love her because of her hockey playing and all that!" UH QUITE THE CONTRARY.

No, they didn't take the venue, just half my guests! I had an uncle say he wouldn't come because he didn't want to deal with flying into NY while the convention was going on, another couple was a no-show because the guy was called into work, and many guests left early because of the traffic caused by the hordes of vermin entering the city.

OK, I need to say this. Sarah Palin strikes me as a Heinous, Selfish BITCH. She's known her daughter, her SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, was pregnant this whole time and STILL agreed to run for National office. For her own ambition she's exposed her daughter to ridicule and embarrassment on an international level. Perez Hilton called her a whore. Add to that my pre-existing disgust with her decision to run for National office while being the mother of a special needs infant.

She Is The MOTHER of these kids and they are in need. But no, she's gotta go run for a job of which she doesn't even know the responsibilities. Disgusting Harpy.
