YES. I've been feeling that way since September, esp. re: Last Leaf.

The one that is getting to me is While You Were Asleep.

And yes, the Liner Notes are this Geek's DREAM. (But I still want to know who that is singing that line in "All Is Not Lost", and they don't tell me, and that annoys me)

Ditto for me for Before the Earth Was Round. I'm sure it's Damian, but I still have an inkling it's not.

  • hey guyss

whats the different between the coloured cover notes and the darker coloured cover notes?

    ALSO:

whos gonna be the 1st one to know what excerpt from that book the white diagrams are describing?

    ALSO:

I <3 them using that spelling of colour <3

Am I the only one who feels the sudden urge to hug each of the boys after listening to the album? Damian especially? When people (reviewers) were calling it melancholy, I had no idea just how accurate they were. My heart hurts listening to some of the lyrics.

In other less woeful news, the liner notes = Brilliant.

You are not alone in that feeling. I never thought about it before bacuase the idea of rock star is so glamorous but it can't be an easy path that they have chosen. What really brought it home to me was seeing BLP's pictures from the TTSP video shoot. Damian slept on a little bed in a teeny closet complete with coat hangers. That's not glamorous. I know their life-style has it's rewards but they have also made sacrifices. I don't think I could ever thank them enough for how their work has changed my life.
  • I agree so whole heartedly with you guys. Some of the songs near break my heart. But as they keep saying it's hopeful too. What really hit home for me was in one of the interviews where damian is talking about how it's hopefull and he says something along the lines of "it may not be true, but we're trying to be hopeful" like having hope may just end up blowing up in their faces, but they're gonna try. I just wanted to hug them so bad! To have a life so terribly torn apart and yet doing what every teenage american is dreaming of. It's a rough life and that is why I support them. They have given it all. I do what I can to give back.
  • I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about ( liner notes? ), but anyways, here some acoustic performances..
    Excuse me if they were posted before;

Thanks a million for those video links, Joris!!
  • liner notes = lyric booklet, I would assume. They are incredible. It will keep me busy for a while.
  • They're called liner notes because the booklet lines the inside of the CD case. (Non-native English speakers - like the lining of a jacket)
  • Are the lyrics featured in the booklet..?

  • Cuuuuuute, ytel! And I love love love what you've done with the sky!

Besides lyrics, are there any cool pics in the booklet? And what does the cd look like?
  • it just makes me appreciate them all so much more... which i truthfully didn't know was possible. the sheer brilliance behind the liner notes, and the incredible lyrics in each song... i knew which ones i liked instantly by listening... but then when i really just laid there to listen to the lyrics... they all speak to me in different ways.

the lyrics are SO smart. and tragically beautiful. i love it. i love them. it's so different, but in the absolute best possible way.

Well. There are no pictures of the guys but there are pictures........but the pictures are the lyrics.....if that makes any sense.......
like for example...the cover....see the songs are coded by colors.....and each color is a theme.....and....then 1 sentence is a line.....and so it forms a circle........im not doing a good job at explaining it.....sorry.....

When you gonna get the CD Miss Rose?!
  • I was kind of shocked when I first heard the samples of this cd. I honestly didn't see Ok Go changing like this. The more I have listened to it, the more it has grown on me. My favorites are the first four, WTF, This Too Shall Pass, All Is Not Lost, and Needing/Getting(my #1 fav). Overall, a very pleasant change and a solid cd. biggrin.gif

haha towards the beginning of TTSP, there's like this beautiful fairy dust catching in the light coming from the window. It's dust, of course, but it's pretty. biggrin.gif

I <3 Damian's commentary on the songs in these.

Is it some like innate human instinct to take pictures with a new album? Because I took about 20 with the album and the poster when I got it. xD I guess those will be posted shortly.
  • Now, those vids are something to love
  • No, it don't get much dumber,
    It don't get much dumber,
    Than tryin' to forget,
A girl when you love her.

A'int that the goddamn truth. Rock on, guys.
