I've created a monster....I showed my sis that Contessa and Bichon audition video. She thought Trish had wrote that song, then I explained to her who Mika was. And my darling sis, who has a natural attraction to fun pop music, is now starting to become obsessed with Mika. She thinks he's nuts
I've been listening to the Woodstock '69 records my mom has and I can't get over how fantastic it is. It does make one feel that that era can never be created as it was; it was innocent with the repercussions of drugs and free love being yet unknown. Still, it makes one feel that, despite this fact, such an uprising can occur again. I remember reading an interview with the "leader" of the 1968 Columbia student uprising. He said, essentially, that all of this uprising could be created again, it's just that people feel like they can't do anything a statement, I believe, is very valid. People seem to wait for things to happen or for things to change. What happens when even John Waters admits that his films are no longer as shocking because we've all seen it on reality TV? What about long hair no longer being a symbol of resistance? What about putting up a good ol' fight of nonresistance and actually changing things for the better without hiding behind leaders? Start with the local, promote peace, be active. We need to stop sitting on our asses, yes? We might never have another Woodstock--not in the same way at least--but we can have our own movement.
I was just watching "Hippies" and something about 1968 on the History Channel. I totally agree. That era and time is my favorite and I find it completely fascinating. People today are just too lazy and apathetic.
And I Feel Like Im Fixin to Die was on the AP exam! I took it last month haha. It was used for an essay about Vietnam resistance, which I think I did an awesome job on by the way.
I'm so bored that I just spent an hour and a half answering questions on Yahoo Answers. What's really irritating is when ppl ask things that they can just google.

Aloha Miss K,
I'd love too!! Alas, I'm busy in Kenosha, WI getting my RenFaire groove on. I'll have a free weekend after Labor Day.
However, my lunches are always open during the week...

According to Wikipedia, Country Joe's "The FISH cheer/I Feel Like I'm Fixing to Die Rag" were on an AP US History exam. What what?
