It occurs to me that Harvard is located in Cambridge, Mass, and that's very humorous to me.
why, might I ask, is that humorous?
I was actually in Harvard Square today, for a University of Rochester admissions interview. I really like the lady who interviewed me, she liked British television and recently met Joss Whedon and was pretty cool. sort of makes me think more about Rochester as an actual option, not just a safety. huh.
but anyways, my interviews today went well, and that makes me happy!
even though i have tons of things to learn (phonology, semantics, morphology, ....) I spend most of my time surfing through the internet and watching videos and listen to (currently) the Strokes, which makes me happy. and Mr. Jorge, Whom I Adore the bear and his tiny friend Tim (made by myself, from plasticine), are sharing their paisley- box house... Oh, I have to take some pictures
Harvard is the No. 1 medical school, located in Cambridge, MA, and Cambridge is the second best school (although, I would argue that it's now the best with the addition of Alice.)
YESSSS then you could've been half an hour away from me! hahaha but I'm sure you'll do wonderful at Cambridge, and maybe I'll have to come visit you sometime, yes?
Ahhh!! Damn, I should've done that!! Lol of course, please come and visit! And then we can go to a McFly show together. Hehe

And so, Alice, to me you're already at the best med school in the world

Ahhh you're both so sweet! I love you guys.
Sally, do you know how long a medical course is in the US? Not including the 4 years undergrad, I mean. Most medical courses are 5 years in England, but Cambridge's course is 6 years - that's because in your 3rd year, you stop doing medicine, and do another related subject, and get a whole degree in that one year. So by the end of my 6 years I think I'll be the equivalent of what you in the States call a double major! Wooo

wow! the more I learn about the British system, the better it sounds. Here after your 4 years undergrad, med school is 4 years. And then you do internship and residency for various number of years depending on your specialty. In 6 years, then, a British student has an MD and some other degree while an American would take 8 (and technically more, since you can't practice w/o internship/residency. Do you guys have that?)...Britain is so much better! Way, way better!

hah riiiiiight, I knew that I was really tired yesterday hahaha.
watching a new (for me, that is) tv show: Life on Mars SUCH a good show plus it has John Simm in red pants I'm so pathetic sometimes.

Lol, this certainly does sound better, yeah...
Although, even though you're given the title 'Dr' after your 5 or 6 years at university, you can't actually practice yet. From then it sounds kind of like the US system - you have two years, F1 and F2, as a junior doctor doing a residency type thing, where you try out a bit of everything. Then you chose your specialty and you train for another 6 or 7 years doing residencies, I think, depending on what you decide to do (it takes longer to become a surgeon, for instance). Then you can start climbing the career ladder until you become a consultant, if you decide to work a a hospital doctor, or own your own practice as a GP. Wooo!
I can't wait to start
Milky - Life on Mars is great!! How fantastic is Gene?? I love him!!
all this talk about medicine makes me think of my dear friend (with whom I made the best brownies today) who's now sitting in her room learning biology/chemistry stuff for her medicine studies... Plus all those vocabulary for her difficult test on wendesday... aw, I like my English literature studies... which is not to say that I don't like what she's doing, or what Alice is going to do (YAY), I have the highest respect....
- being done with my test for linguistics... I have to hand it in tomorrow and all i have to do now is drwing some word-syllable-thing-trees... oh well, that is kinda fun.
- Recieving Hannukah goodies in the mail from my best friend: - Because I don't have cable, she taped for me when Fuse had on that hour of Ok Go. - she filled the rest of the tape with Pinky and the Brain eps -she also sent me a very limited addition of some Japanese pop goodies
- Watching Ok Go on my tv and screaming like being at a concert. This Fuse Loaded show where they're only showing Ok Go music vids makes me so very very happy.
- my best friend (You truly truly rock, even though you're never going to read this!)
oh man i feel so bad for being so late! But Alice, when i read that you got into KINGS FREAKIN COLLAGE AT CAMBRIDGE, holly molly i got this feeling of pride. Congrats and best wishes darling!
added to my list: -accidentally falling in love with jens Lekman -my pashminas (thanks mel!) -sitting in lecture and seeing a boy with curly hair from the back wearing a teal blue top a pretending it was mika... -knowing that im connected to david bowie though only 2 degrees of separation (the bartender at my work once bartended for bowie)
Sorry, I must have missed this. Um I met Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Anthony in the movie, Jayne Wisener, who plays Johanna, and Ed Sanders, who plays Toby. I would show you the pictures I got with them, but I look weird haha

Mika! How cool!
Um 2 degrees from David Bowie?!?! No Way! Now that is awesome.
ahhhhhh you read my mind. maybe not surprising, seeing as how this is an ok go board.
Up until today, I actually hadn't been listening to them at all, really. I sort of go through phases with music, and for whatever reason I have been stuck listening to other bands.
And then you have that moment when you decide to put one of their songs on and it hits you- this band is amazing. You already knew it, but coming back to them after a length of time just makes you fall in love all over again.

Also, Patty, which actors did you meet?
