Hi, peeps!
Finally, after 143 days in the desert, it rained yesterday! And all day long "Let It Rain" was playing in my head.
Yes, it hasn't rained here in Phoenix AZ since Oct 18th. And not only did it rain, but there was even snow! Ok Go just came a week ago. Could their happy wonderful music been just the rain dance needed to break the dry spell? What do you peeps think?
Oh, and this is my first ever post on any discussion board. I love ok go and you guys all sound so nice and welcoming so I wanted to try this stuff out. Please don't be mean to me if I'm doing it all wrong.
Talk to y'all later *waves bye bye*

I can obviously never move to Arizona--I love rain.
Still.. 143?!
also: Welcome to the Board (it deserves to be in caps)! Really, I don't think there is much you can do to "be wrong," unless, of course, you're a total bitch... which you're not.

Lol, yes rain is good. And no 143 days is not normal! In the winter it usually does rain here a lot, it's the summers that are supposed to be a hot dry wasteland. That's why I find it coincidental that Ok Go comes and they finally bring the rain.
Snow is not normal either. But the mountains by my house got snow. I spent the whole afternoon driving thru the desert with my Ok Go cd blaring and taking pictures as if I work for National Geographic or something.
Cactus, palm trees, and snow. Doesn't that sound like an odd combination?

Aww, sounds kinda romantic in a way. You sound like my sister back home in NJ. She says I've got it so easy without snow. But I got snow yesterday!
Yes, let's do a 24 hour switch. Come on, now. If we both concentrate real hard, snap our fingers at the same time, and say Ok Go!, while meditating under a silvery full moon, you will find yourself in the desert and I will find myself in a cute foggy lil' New England town. Do you live on the coast? Sounds cold there, should I bring a jacket? lol
Thank you, Head Full of Crazy. I appreciate it! (I'm really quite shy, so it took a lot of guts for me to join a discussion board.)

Yes, 143 it crazy! It's a record breaker. If not for Ok Go coming, I do believe the dry spell would have continued. It was my first Ok Go concert (my first ever rock concert period as a matter of fact), so I am still gushing about it.
Thanks for saying I'm not a bitch, lol. You don't sound like one either. And thanks for welcoming a very shy person like me.
Hah. Sadly, I do not live on the coast (not that I'd really want to because Long Island Sound gives me the heebie jeebies). However, I do live in one of those stereotypically quaint suburbs where the people have far too much money and spend it on making sure Main Street remains all cute an' quaint.
We did once have a battle come through here once during the Revolutionary War. ... of course, by battle I mean "a few people stood outside as the British marched to Danbury and we had our asses rolly handed to us on a platter yet hundreds of years later we're proud to have a fucking cannonball stuck in the side of one of the buildings because of that battle."
By the way, you're totally allowed to gush about the concert. I wouldn't shut up about my first live OK Go experience for at least a week.
Ugh, I concur! It has been raining here in MA for AGES and I'm really sick of it.
I remember Spongie mentioning this snowy business over at her LJ. She's another Boardie who lives in AZ (tragically, she's been MIA a lot lately).
Are you hatin' on the Rev. War reenactors???
Really? Only a week? It's been almost a year, and I still won't shut up. 'Course, I've seen them three times since then...maybe that has something to do with it.
Okay, clearly my exorbitant number of posts on the boards in the past two hours is a result of me NOT wanting to do my Costume Design homework...
Of course, by "week," I meant "I still can't get over I was right in front of Damian." I just managed to contain the random giggly outbursts after a week... much to the happiness of most of my friends.
Though, I must admit, I liked them better the second time I saw them because it was far more laid back and, though being front and center was awesome, being to the side allowed me to dance more wildly without hitting people in the face with my flailing limbs.

The last time I saw them was my first time front and center, and I was dancing like such a nutter. The people behind me must have HATED me. But it was an awesome experience.
Haha. At the last show I attended, we had some major PDAers next to us... so we flailed all over them. It's very hard to make out when you have a bunch of hard core OK Go fans dancing all over you.
Oh, man. Too bad Dami didn't ask them to get onstage....don't people know that it's dangerous to make out at OK Go shows?

My hometown in NJ is also a Revolutionary War site. George Washington and the troups spent a brutal winter there. Still, were you live sounds pretty.
You were right in front of Damian!!!! Wow!!!! What was cool about the concert I was at was Ok Go was the 3rd band to perform. In between the bands, people could leave and get food or drinks. So me and my friends slowly made it closer and closer to the front. By the time Ok Go came out we were in the 2nd row, off to the side, not far from Andy. But you, in front of Damian! I'm so envious!

Costume design homework sounds like fun. I'll do it for you, lol.
Maybe if Ok Go comes back to your hometown, it will stop the rain. When they came here, it started the rain. Their instruments may have magical powers that we are unaware of, ha ha. Going 3 times in one year? You lucky ducky!
lol, I'm surprised he didn't make them come up on stage. That sounds like something he would do. Someone at the concert I was at was eager for Motion City Soundtrack to come out and told Damian to "shut up already." Damian heard him and started to tell him off, it was hillarious.
Don't worry... they learned quickly. We were sitting on the stage by Tim (a.k.a. house left) and they were pressed up against the stage next to us. Being in the front wasn't such a good idea because we managed to ram into them a couple of times and soon they were crushed by the whole hoard of dancing fans. All in all, I think they learned a valuable lesson. Goodness, that was an awesome show.
yes. and you will probably have to take a mug shot. be prepared always. the end.
business or scrubs??? that's all the choices u get??? maybe you should mix the two. wear scrub bottoms with a suit jacket and tie or a stethoscope(sp?). and scrub shoes! that would be a sight to see. then you wouldn't actually be breaking the rules! yay!
