You responded with a five page paper that's going to get them all riled up again! Oh, silly you.
**shrugs** I think my goal was to make you look better, because I really don't care for JCers, especially mothers. If I wanted a mom on the JC I'd have a baby. Until then, the mothers should bug off.

I know! I really, really don't want to start anything here. I love coming to this board and learning all I can about OK Go. I am so in awe/jealous of the real superfans! And, one-to-one, without any generalizations, I'm sure we could all get along.
The thread on the JC was upsetting to me - it was so pointless. Small mistakes made bigger ones, on both sides. I guess I just don't like hiding in the shadows on this board, where just being a mom can get you insulted. Someday (maybe) you'll all be moms, too!
Let's change the subject!! (But first, go clean your rooms!)

Ugh, if I explain why I was so harsh no one will believe me, but hey, I'll try.
I don't care about the JC, I don't even like it over there because we always end up getting into arguements over the DUMBEST THINGS. So, when my friend Katy told me that she was having trouble over there, I took it upon myself to fight back, because she's done it for me numerous times. Since I no longer go to the JC, I had nothing to lose by being harsh, and since Katy needed help, I was mean as I could think of being. Why? Because Katy looks REALLY GOOD after I'm finished talking becuase she can keep composed. It's not just with the boards, it's with our personal lives too. Katy is the mature one, and I'm the irrational one. So, Katy looks good, everyone hates me (as usual), and I don't care because I'm never on the JC. If I really wanted to aruge with those people, I'd be over there right now being civilized or holding my tongue, I wouldn't be straight out rude, especially since some of my friends on this board are much older than me. Frankly, I don't give a hoot. THE END.
Don't go into hiding on this board, this is where you belong. The average age on this board is like 21 or something, and the people younger than that are really mature, like God, Kay, etc. Stay here, come into the light.
Thank you so much! Your welcome means a lot to me. My name is Theresa and, at 42, I do believe I'm the grandma on these boards. That's fine, but it's not easy being so much cooler than my friends! And, I'm doing my very best to spread the good word about OK Go. I have tickets to the Detroit/Cobo Arena show on Dec. 14, with My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Angels and Airwaves and OK Go (billed fourth?!) with two adventurous friends of mine. So now I have to try to learn a few songs of the other bands and then try not to feel TOO out of place! Oh well, it's worth it to see OK Go again! I'll definitely stick around this board!

oh and belated welcomes
That's the same line-up for all the US radio festivals, and the ones I'm going to with Jen have 30 seconds to mars and Plain White T's too. It's going to be AWESOME.
But why are you jealous? You get to go to the Reading festival every year.

Yay! Now we can all be friends. Have you ever meen to an OK Go show before? Also, beware of moshers, my mom was knocked down at and OK Go show with Plain White T's and MCS. All those bands are prime moshing bands. Don't be afraid to pull some hair.
I've seen them once before. I was at their free concert at the U of M/Michigan State football game three weeks ago, and it was awesome. Such a beautiful day and a great concert. Before the show, we got to meet the band and they were all very adorable. I wrote a little review on another thread, which I tried to link here:
About the Cobo Arena show, I did not get tickets on the main floor strictly because of the moshing. I am truly not up for hair pulling! We have really close seats in the first tier, and if I want to get any closer, I'll just frantically tell the usher, "My daughter is in that crowd and she's in trouble!" I bet they'll fall for that! But I have some questions (since that is what this thread is for!)
1) Since there are four bands, and they have to set up and everything, how long do you think each band will actually play? Starting time for the concert is 5:00. It is a 12,000+ seat arena and the main floor, first tier and half of the second are already full. It will be a very different experience from the last time I saw them (when we were about four feet from Damian)!
2) How and when do you think the band will sign autographs? Will they have to wait until the bitter end when all four bands are done? Also, that will be a huge crowd letting out. Will they even brave meeting any fans after the show?

Smart thinking, my friend. Also, sneaky, I like that. My mom always does the, "I'm with her" thing, too. BTW, who are you on the JC?

I think I remember Milosh or someone saying it was about a 45 minute set, like when they open. Usually that's how festivals roll.
They probably will have a designated time and place for the meet and greet, like at a table during another act maybe.
(personal opinion: It seems silly to restrict any music taste to a certain age. Who is to say if someone is "too young" or "too old" to appreciate music. If you honestly are there for the music and enjoy it, age really doesn't matter. Age differences can bring some new perspectives too, eh?)

Agreed, my favorite people are "oldies," but really, let's not get into this again.

I agree. I fell really silly now, because I kinda' started the whole thing, but it wasn't based on the whole age thing- I have an issue with people who introduce themselves by creating "complaint" threads, and the poster was wrong about what she was saying. Of course, I was wrong with the information I was spewing out (damn you, Wikipedia...), so we're even. It just evolved from a somewhat civilised discourse to an even more ridiculous argument about something COMPLETELY different.
I just think we all have better things to do with our time than waste it on that thread. Especially you moms- you probably have SO MUCH TO DO in your lives!!!!!!

Yeah, but that's the US, as e517oa pointed out. I specifically needed the UK chart info.
Also, apparently Kay and I are the same person now. In case you didn't know.

.........Sheri, you're not a mom, are you? Haha.
No, she has ferrets. And if she is a mom, she didn't join the boards just because her kids like ok go, Sheri is an actual superfan.
No one comes to a fan bulletin board to be insulted. Maybe we should all just agree to love OK Go and leave it at that.
