It's actually a month long, except for when you're on your period. I think this year its harder because it came before daylight savings time this year, so the fast is longer. but yay 15 minutes til I eat woot woot.
aww, ambie *hugs* i hope you start feeling better. when you think of food just remember paul and his }:] ness and you'll giggle and things will be all better!!
- acne i should eat less candy, but it's so hard!!
I loved Ramadan when I lived in Malaysia 'cause every time we went flying with my dad (he's a pilot) his co-pilots would give us their food, meaning we'd get extra dessert. Doesn't sound that huge now, but when you're eight getting extra chocolate fudge cake is AWESOME.
But I did get cut when I went back to Malaysia after we moved back to Australia and they'd shut down the water park I'd been DYING to go too apparently because of it. I was so devoed.
Wow, that's even harder core!!! Do you have Sunday's off?
Seems like that'd be bad for your health, but I don't know stuff....
Nope, no Sundays off! Well, if its detrimental to one's health they don't have to fast.. because.. well, then you could die! haha yuppp

Ramadan?
I always find other religions so fascinating and rich. Maybe it's because I'm a (super) lapsed Catholic.
Yeah! I'm not like.. super religious (well, definitely not as much as i should be), but I haven't renounced it either you know.. I honestly think that all the drama in the world caused by people claiming they're doing it in the name of Islam disgusts me because their perception of the religion is sooo convoluted, and so that kind of puts me off, which is a shame, because they are totally wrong, but still its just frustrating to see that. Also, some people take the religion to strictly and look down on you from their high horse just because they do something more conservative whereas you don't, and that's rather annoying as well. I believe in the foundation of the religion, and I guess other than that I take a slightly more liberal perception of it (i.e. I dress moderately, but not with a headscarf or full sleeves, I would like to date and such, whereas some people are like OMG BLASPHEMY, etc.)

Ambie, have a meaningful Ramadan and easy fasts. It's hard enough for me with Yom Kippur so I have mad respect for you guys.
Thanks dear!!

Aww thats awesome!
Yay I love how you guys know about Ramadan! Quite exciting...
The benefits of growing up in South East Asia I kinda miss it sometimes 'cause you got to celebrate the holidays of other religions over there, plus they still really got into the western holidays so it was like you were always doing something.
Yay I love how you guys know about Ramadan! Quite exciting...
Of course I know about Ramadan! It really annoys the crap out of me when I meet people who have made no effort to learn about religions other than their own (ie, "Rachel, why are you at work? Didn't Chanukah start last night?"), so I take a non-hypocritical stance of trying to learn about others.

of course we know about it! i really respect you for keeping the traditions that some religions have already lost because of the lives that we live today..
go go Ambie!!
Yesterday I was at my freshman's dinner and i was supposed to have fun and all but suddently this senior BITCH wouldn't stop yelling at me!!! first it was because of the seat that i was going to leave because I was going to a table nearer to the band. Then it was because i should be seaten and i was up. BITCHHH i just hate when people yell at me and are rude!!!!!! I don't give a shit if she's older and i owe her respect as the traditions say because she was on uniform I DON'T FREAKING CARE!!!
oh I hate being humilliated on the freshman year once again
oh I hate being humilliated on the freshman year once again
Fuck that sucks. At least you're not a freshman forever, eh?
I honestly don't get the senior power-trip. I mean, we all do it (I did, though I didn't yell at freshmen, I definitely felt "above" them), but why? Is it the cyclic thing, where we do it because people did it to us?
Fuck it. The cow who screwed up my Cambridge application is also the woman writing my reference to all universities. And she now hates me, because she says she was "offended" and "hurt" by my complaining. Someone told her (wrongly) that I'd said I wanted to get her sacked, so when I went to talk to her and apologise for upsetting her, she wouldn't talk to me and stormed off. The woman actually hates me. I'm so screwed I did manage to catch up with her later, told her that it wasn't true and that if I ever insinuated anything like that then I was very very sorry, but she's still moody with me.
She's gonna be there at parents evening tonight, and I might have to put my parents on leashes to stop them from having a go at her. Oy.
Also, there is a postal strike, so my application form still may not reach Cambridge in time (but I'm getting that sorted, it's just extra worry, you know?).
ok so my job is great... i mean i got to work on the leafs opener at a pub! that was semi fun, extremly tireing... but theres this waitress. whom I'm always cleaning her tables and shizz, and trying to be nice to in my lame shyarse way... and shes totally beautifull and nice to everyone... but I think she dislikes me. I was giving her a message that someone was at the phone for me and she got all meany mean... in like a crowd of 3 of my co-workers... i think they were talking about me before... bleh, made me feel like shit.
i think they think i dislike them because im shy... but I don't im just shy... barf, i hate being like that sometimes. and i hate when peeps don't understand.
just because your beautiful doesn't mean you have to be a meannie bo beenie...
end of complaint.

Allie, why does that person need to be the one to write your reference? Why not get one of those teachers who loves you and recognizes you for the awesome person you are???

it's just stupid!! because if you're a senior it means that next year you'll be a freshman again but at this time in work!!!
it's just stupid because this is the second graduation that i'm starting, at the graduation that i was, i was a senior, so i'm a senior at one place and freshman at another...it makes me think that this is all very stupid!

Now, would anyone know what I could get my parents for our holiday next Saturday (Oct. 13th)??
My parents never use anything I get them .
