Aww, thanks about the pics! My friend (who took them) is a genius at these things!
ooo, this is so exciting! Juniperberry, eeeee! Hooray! And Lola, I wanna hear it all, pleeease! All 7 pages! Pretty please? There's nothing I love more than reading boardies' concert stories.

Damian: "It's getting hot in here!" Us: "So take off all your clothes!"
These photos were taken by me, which explains its fuzzy crapola quality.
Haha Tabetha! I'll post a shortened version here on the boards (so I don't waste too much space) and will provide a linkee to the full version on my LJ? How does that sound?

o man, i can tell you guys had an awesome time, and you haven't even really talked about it yet! so excited to hear about it! o i'm soo happy for you guys!
We got to fox studios at 6pm with two hours to go until doors open. There were already two people in line, they'd been there about 20minutes before us. We decided to take a look around the back since we had awhile to wait and there we found their van and an open door to backstage. After contemplating sneaking in we refrained ourselves and instead went and touched the van, just so we could say we did
It was so cold in line, I lost all feeling in my butt and my mum even went to the shops nearby to buy herself another jumper. We were sitting there watching everyone line up for the Arctic Monkeys when a man walked past, saw a a poncho that someone had dropped on the ground, picked it up and handed it to me saying, "I appreciate you!" It was so funny and the poncho matched my shoes perfectly!
My friend and I, decided to go to the toilet while we could and as we went around to the back bathrooms I spotted Tim in the distance. I grabbed her arm and started whispering "Tim, tim!!! It's Tim!" She turned around and at that moment we saw Damian. They were getting in their van and so as not so look suspicious so my friend bent over and pretended to tie up her shoelace. Then they got into their van with another man and drove off, we finally closed our gaping mouths and ran back to the line to tell everyone.
When we got back the line had moved to the other side but luckily my parents had saved our spot. It was another half hour before the security guard walked over and asked everyone to have their IDs out. I was so sure it was all over at this point. I could feel my heart in my throat and my stomach completely dropped. I had never been this afraid in my life, even when I used to lie awake in the middle of the night scared stiff, I was never that petrified! He took our IDs in his hands and looked really closely, like really really really closely! He moved them around in the light at all different angles and I was convinced that any moment then he was going to send us home. But then he said, "Yeah, you're right, go on in." and it took all of my self control not to jump up and down, fist pumping and screaming. I just smiled nodded politely and went on through. As we were second in line and the lovely people in front of us had seen the band before we were able to get the spot directly in the centre of the stage.
We were a little worried about the lack of people at this time but since it was 8pm and OK Go didn't start until 10pm we just hoped people would show up later on (which they did!). The Dirty Secrets were ok, you couldn't hear the vocals at all and I think only made them out in the last two songs because I'd heard them before. I had trouble looking at the singer because he looked so much like a kid at my school, if I watched him too closely i ended up giggling which seemed a little bit rude, so i watched the drummer (pretty cute). They didn't take long to finish and when they left people started setting up for our boys! At one point Dan was onstage testing things, I could not believe how beautiful he is in person!
For some reason the people behind us in the crowd had left a really big gap between second row and front which was a little disconcerting, however they moved up when Andy came on and began The House Wins. The whole band was absolutely gorgeous and the crowd was so excited, it made my heart swell to see so many people there to appreciate them. I couldn't have been prouder or happier! After House Damian said something about playing Brisbane last night and everybody, except me, booed (sorry LolaBert), then he said that we shouldn't be like that because OK Go were here to "bridge the gap of love" Whenever Damian spoke I could only ever hear every second word at best. After House came Television Television and Don't Ask Me, they were so amazing and Tim and Andy's synchronised moves were hilarious! After those two Damian started talking again, from what I could tell he was just insulting the Arctic Monkeys, “We wanted to see the Arctic Monkeys so we're like, 'so Arctic Monkeys, can we??' And they were like .... . Fuck the Arctic Monkeys!" I'm pretty sure they blamed the Arctic Monkeys for their small crowd and I did too, as you can probably tell from earlier posts.
He also told us about seeing Guns and Roses as a kid and how he always wondered what happened if they needed to pee and then there was a 45minute drum solo and he figured that must be when they went to the toilet. I believe it was at this point he clarified that it was a restricted age show and proceeded to tell us about how Guns and Roses were known for fellatio. Then they played No Sign and Good Idea, I was absolutely blown away! They played Fix too! I was so happy because it's one of my all time favourites, I absolutely adore that song! I was a little surprised that hardly anyone knew it and the majority of the crowd only sang along to songs from Oh No.
Next Damian said they were going to do a cover and since they believe in freedom of choice they let us decide between ELO and Violet Femmes. I screamed for both because I love them both, VF won by miles so they did Prove My Love. Damian disappeared at some point in the song and showed up again in the middle of the crowd, I couldn't see him until he climbed back onstage right in front us when I 'accidentally' grabbed his arm, butt and leg.
After the cover he brought out a bottle of Jameson and refilled his plastic cup before they started GOI. Before the "got a job, got a life..." part he did the I's getting hot in here thing, but no one could actually understand what he was saying so we just screamed. He informed us "That was pretty bad, I mean, bad because you didn't know what to say, you were enthusiastic though" So, he gave us a demonstration of the proper way to do it with Tim.
Damian: I say, It's getting hot in here. So you say... Tim: So take off all your clothes!!!
It was so cute and after that we knew exactly what to do, Damian took off his jacket and acted as though he was going to actually strip but then he just did his little smirk and finished off GOI.
Then they hopped into the audience to do the acoustic set, A Million Ways and What to Do. Damian told us about how hard it was to get people in Korea to do the "zero zero zero..." part of AMW and that we sounded hilarious doing it with Aussie accents. When they finished the acoustic set Dan started playing It's a Disaster on his own. He was absolutely, amazingly brilliant, so my friend and I shouted "We love Dan!!!" on the count of three and he smiled a little and continued playing.
Damian told us all to get out lighters, phones, cameras etc for OLISQ. My parents had all our stuff so we just had to sway and sing along, it was a really beautiful moment! Invincible was next and according to my parents K and I looked like two tiggers bouncing up and down, higher than anyone else. We held hands through the entire song and I honestly can't find the words to describe how amazing it felt to share that night with her.
Damian announced they were going to play a song we all would know which was, of course, HIGA. The crowd went crazy for that one and it was the only time the girls next to me jumped and sang along, I was really glad they finally joined in. After HIGA the boys lined up, bowed and left the stage. I kept cheering until my voice was lost completely and all I could do was clap. It felt like forever before they came back out again, but it was probably no more than a few minutes.
They played Don't Bring Me Down for everyone who had voted for it but missed out to the Violet Femmes cover. My parents were pretty happy with this because he dedicated it to whoever was around in the 70s. Finally they blasted DWYW and it was during this song that I saw a bit of spit fly from Damian's mouth and felt it land in my own He also shook his hair and sprayed me with tons sweat! haha
After they'd left the stage everyone hung around, I think they were hoping for the AMW dance but one of the roadies told us to go because they weren't coming back. Then he started handing out photocopied set lists and I grabbed one (I had no idea I could be so violent or that I had such good reflexes!) A lovely boy behind me had got Dan's list with the pink tape on it and he said "aw mine has pink on it so you can have it if you want..?" We swapped lists and he was really sweet and asked if we liked the concert, I was pretty much speechless so I just nodded and tried to shout "YES!"... I'm not sure if anything actually came out!
My parents wouldn't let us get merch or even stay to try and meet them because they wanted to get home ( ) I kissed my set list and then ran down the street with my friend, fist pumping and giggling and hugging. It was by far the best night of my life!!
That was way longer than i expected edit: does it have funny symbols in it for anyone else? Please excuse typos and me not making any sense. I'm tired.
