OMG, I feel exactly the same way. On the one hand, I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to have seen these guys live, but on the other I'm like, oh no, will any other show I go to be as good as this?

What? How short was their set? Did they play for the full hour?

Oh, wow, I always thought you were originally from the States. Sorry. I'm still a bit of a newbie around these parts. Oh gosh, I actually like the cold, so me and Melbourne would go together well, but yeah, I can imagine, coming from the Gold Coast!

Haha, there's nothing wrong with you!

Glad you had a brilliant time with OK Go!

lol yeahhh they played the full hour but I wanted moorreeeee. I'm a greedy, needy person. I would only have been happy if they had played every single song in their repetoire.

and Pssh, "I like the cold". That's what I said before I moved to Melbourne lmao. Then I started getting up at 6.30 in the morning and catching the tram to work and suddenly winter wasn't the sexy, snuggle season I had always made it out to be. Though, maybe if I had a sexy man to snuggle my thoughts would be different right now... and yeah, psha, the Gold Coast!

lol I'm insanely mopey when I think about it. I mean part of me is all "omg fuck ya, I saw OK Go live and it was awesome" and then the other part of me is all, "omg, I saw OK Go live and it's over".

Hoh. smile.gif sad.gif A lot of us know what you mean!

And a BIG thank you for coming back to clear up that one thing. I mean, what that person wrote was just alarming and I'd been hoping and hoping it wasn't true and spent about a day searching for ways to explain it in case it was. I decided to shove it aside but thanks for making it final!

And I liked what you wrote, Sheri. There's a good chance it'll get read by the right people, I think. It's common to comment on a blog and then check back for a while to see if anyone responds or adds to what you say. In any case, your comment is there for new people who might stumble across that site.

Anyway, as much as they seemed to like your country, Katie, I bet they want to come back. I hope they can manage it for you sooner than later this time. Having seen them in small venues like yours, with 100-150 people max, I say, it's got to be the best way to see them, though! Seeing OK Go in any venue wouldn't suck at all, by me, but those fewer concerts still have more BANG going for them, in my view! wink.gif Did that make sense? I'm getting tired. rolleyes.gif

Noooo problem at all. I wish I'd been able to explain it sooner. I got slightly distressed when I thought people had spent the last week thinking that what that person wrote was true.

Fingers crossed, lol. And yeah, small venues is awesome. I doubt there'd have been any jumping off the stage to do an acoustic set in the middle of the crowd had it been considerably larger. It's easier to work with and do more with a smaller crowd as performers, anyway. When there's a large group of people your interaction is kinda limited, or at least that's how I see it. It also doesn't hurt that with smaller crowds it's easier to get front row.

And who knows, maybe I'll end up in the US sometime when they're touring and can see them some more there, too. It's a distinct possibility lol.

  • Oh God, thank you so much!!
I'm so glad you explained everything, you cleared Damian's name and made me feel about not-so-poor Melbourne!
I couldn't really picture Damian pushing a speaker onto someone but it's still good to know for sure!

Oh and God, I also have to thank you for answering my prayers and not only bringing OK Go to Australia but also letting me get into the gig! wink.gif You rock!

Not a problem at all. Like I said, i wish i could've cleared it up sooner. I hope there aren't a lot of people who read what that kid wrote and don't know the truth of the situation :S
