    i met Joel Plaskett on the weekend. Its true what they say about him. I was in awe as soon as he stepped on stage. After the show... i really dont remember much... but i was suddenly infront of him...

    he is so tall... i cant remember what i said... i stuttered...

    i gave him a drawing i made of him...

    thats about it... except ... he smiled, and that was great.

    also... I love you Mel and Tiff... i was to scared to talk to him, but you called him up to us and litterally pushed me to do it.

    I was debating whether the "OMG lets start a zine!!1!" topic could be considered spam, since it was directly from the JC, but then I decided that was too mean, and it was better to ignore it, like evryone else was doing... then some more newbies started talking in that one, so I don't think its fallen off the first page.

    and, yeah, what I just said is realy mean now that I think about it... I'm sorry, newbies and JCers. I only thought it for a second, really.

    AND there's some really cool newbies, too.

    so we'll just have to deal with this invasion of our boards... cause if we esplode, then we'll lose our "reputation"(in our own minds, I guess) of being the nice, warm, welcoming board as opposed to the JC.

    most of the annoying ones have only posted once or twice anyhow.

    That's all very true. I mean, look at how many registered members we've got here and how many of us actually post on a regular basis? How many of us have actually gotten past 50 posts??

    And it's true, we are a generally warm and welcoming group- unless you prove yourself to be an idiot within your first two posts. I've found we have a very low tolerance for idiocy.

    I'm a little annoyed at the supposed "blog/zine/newsletter" issue as well. This board pretty much provides me with all the information, pictures, reviews and news that I need. The only way I could get anymore information would be through the OFFICIAL OK Go email list, and it has been down for months. (pokes Mr. Mr. Mr. Jorge, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore)

    I really don't feel we need to keep branching off into little sects. There are two boards - that's plenty. There are about 10+ facebook groups, a few MySpace groups, and ONE Livejournal group. We're keeping it simple and I personally like it that way. Unless the person running the "zine" is sleeping with one of the members, I don't feel they could tell me anything I do not already know.

    This isn't a rant by any means; just an opinion. smile.gif

    The newsletter from the email list is posted as a myspace bulletin every time there's a new one, so you're not missing much.

    Yeah, that newsletter thing is getting a bit annoying. I've got enough pics and reviews of my own, thanks. And I can guarantee you that I know things about the band that they've got not clue about.

    Not that I'm trying to be mean. Just stating an opinion.

    I second that because she was the first person to get a forum dedicated to her, which is like the first step to controlling all of the boards.

    I nominate darbs. We're starting to need a mod, and she's the best for the job. I love that this board doesn't have a mod. But honestly, the newbie's and the JC'ers are getting out of hand. The intellegence of this board has gone downhill. The love and comradery has also gone down. Darbs is loving enough to give the former JC'ers and newbies a gentle kick in the butt in the right direction, without insulting those newbies.



    Maybe we should start a thread to nominante a mod. It can be one of those voting threads. We could have it open to voting for a week or 2 and then at the end, the top one or two people can be our mods. We could ok it w/ Mr. Mr. Mr. Mr. Jorge, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore, Whom I Adore as well. Does anyone think we should do this? The Official OkGo Democracy?

    We could have a thread where we develop the roles and qualities that a mod should have. In that thread people could also post nominees. Then we could do another thread where we actually vote
