  • Death Cab kids are way too emo for anyone's good. That sucks that they made you depressed at a show. They need to get over themselves.
  • I agree. I thought I was a Death Cab fan until I went to their concert, then my fan-ness went down hill. I guess I'm more of a Postal Service kind of girl, too bad they don't tour.

Really? I can't really speak form experience, but the Death Cab fans I know, besides the occasional emo tendancy, seem to be genuinely enjoyable people who just love the music. It's just very hard ot rock out to Death Cab music (exception being "Flustered/Hey Tomcat!"). I don't know, maybe their concerts are completely different?

    On a completely different note:

GOGOL BORDELLO CONCERT!!!! AHHHH AHHHHH AHHHHHH!

I'm so fucking excited. I'm either going on the 15th or the 12th, depending on when I can get out of the house.

sorry i have to vent... please ignore this posting if you don't like reading about complaints.

ok, i have a complaint about Death Cab for Cutie concertgoers, could you at least muster up some energy for Franz Ferdinand??? Jeez, I just got back from that concert and Franz Ferdinand was awesome but I doubt that they'll ever come back since the crowd was just full of DCFC emo kiddies sentimental and just so blah. Franz Ferdinand looked so bored, I'm sorry Franz Ferdinand for the less than dull crowd... Tried my best. I had lots of fun in my 0.5" perimeter of personal space though... i heart Franz Ferdinand. the end.

I haven't been to the FF/DCFC concert yet, I'm going on the 14th, but I'm going for both bands. Franz is my 2nd fave band (right after OK Go), and I saw them in October and loved them. I just recently discovered DCFC, though, and I'm really excited to see both bands. And I'll definitely dance like a nutter during Franz's set for you, oknow. wink.gif

yeah, they are 2 completely opposite bands! I was trying to have fun dancing and waving my hands around like a crazy fool, everyone around me sucked the life out of the concert. There was one little mixed group of mothers that were way into it, I wish I was closer to them but I still had fun, I still danced around like a monkey and probably annoyed the DCFC fans but oh well!!!

HAHA this so reminds me of my summer festival last year. You guys just have to not give a shit about what people think about you or what they do, people need to lighten up!!!! Me and 3 of my friends were stuck at the back of the tent for the futureheads and EVERYONE around us was being boring and just standing still. So we just started dancing etc on our own. We pissed EVERYONE off (and very nearaly got into a few fights) but it was probably in my top five bands of the whole weekend...

And also on the last night, everyone was ramming up to the front to wait for the Foo FIghters when Kings of Leon came on and nobody wanted to dance then, so we asked everybody that was stood next to us to dance, and in the end we had a massive circle of people being crazy... People shouldn't be so prudish with such things, it really annoys me.

Sorry t be random, I just felt like sharing
  • thanks for the comments guys! I'm glad we're not all emo-ey at concerts! laugh.gif
I must recommend seeing FFerdinand b/c they are awesome live, every song just makes you want to dance and jump up and jump down. Have a great time jedi_grrlie! You'll love them! As for DCFC, they have some songs that I like, not all are bad but a little annoying sometimes when you have too many slow songs. This girl in front of me during FFerdinand got really annoying, she was clearly a DCFC fan, very mopey/tired/clinging onto her boyfriend and probably got annoyed by me jumping and bumping into her but i had fun! and yeah i agree with The End Has No Jen, just do what you want at these concerts you'll just be the initiator of fun, people around you will do the same hopefully, gotta take chances!

feel free to shorten my approved name to jen lol smile.gif it takes about 3 less seconds to type smile.gif
  • Ha, my friends' and I were talking about why death cab kids were so weird, and we agree that the reason they're so blah is because they are full of so many emotions that they cancel themselves out until they're a big pile of mush. It's funny because it's true.

I'm good at pissing people off at concerts by dancing too much. Hell, I think I pissed off people at the last OK Go concert I went to by dancing too much, and that's kinda' hard to do, especially when you're in front row. biggrin.gif
  • I totally got evil glares when doing A Million Ways....those people suck....far too emo....
  • I think I have you both beat with the evil glares thing..when OK Go went into the crowd for the dance, I jumped right on the stage to take pictures and then like halfway into it, I realized I was dancing along (aaalll by myself) and people were making "L" signs on their foreheads at me..
  • OMG, you win.
  • chalk another gig onto my list

Your shoes are quite fantastic. And yes, you will see Hard-Fi. Maybe not this year, but I'll make sure we see them when I'm over in England ...they're on my list of a billion bands to see when I'm there!
  • off topic ^...
has anyone gone to see Imogen Heap? How are her shows? She's coming and I think I am going to get tickets since I like Frou Frou. She's sold out all her England shows, must mean something... smile.gif
  • My friends' have told me that Imogen is really sweet in concert, but I don't think she's as good as Frou Frou.

I realized that I'm going to at least 4 OK Go shows this summer. Wow. That's scary.

wait, Imogen is 1/2 of Frou Frou right?!
I'm guessing that you're going to some gigs in TX and FL, right? That magically becomes 4 shows! Wow! Lucky! I think I'll be going to maybe 2 more, could be 3 but going to go see Imogen I've decided... or maybe not... ack! too many choices!!! What/Who is everyone going to go see this spring/summer? or rather, who's touring this summer?
