Project Runway
So I was inspired by the ongoing Project Runway convo over at the Beautiful People Thread to create this shiny thread because I realised that, while quite a few people on Project Runway are beautiful (*coughDanielVosoviccough*), it was kind of like a parasite. Woot!
So, yeah. Discuss the show. Talk about how much you love or hate Santino, about why Chloe rocks your socks, and about how much you really wish that you fall under Daniel V.'s 20%.

so, i was really upset with this last episode. i really liked nick, and i think santino should've been the one to go. one thing i found funny about it... is when that make-up guy or whatever was talking to santino and mentioned brad pitt, and then santino was all like "i'm gonna look better than brad pitt" or "watch out brad pitt" or "i'm gonna look so good" or something to that effect. my roommate & i just started busting out laughing and we're like "um... no! you're so gross!" hahaha. but yeah, i think santino should've been the one to go, because nick's was soo much better, at least it wasn't coming apart.
santino can be sorta funny sometimes though. like, how he wore those high heels in the nikki hilton episode... and his tim impressions... they're pretty good! lol, i especially loved the extra videos of him "singing" nine inch nails as tim, and... one of the new ones, where he talks about "would rather have an anus for a mouth or a penis projecting from your forehead like a unicorn..." i was watching that at about 2 this morning, and my roommate was sleeping, and i just started BUSTING out laughing... it was horrible, hahaha.
yeah... i'm gonna shut up now... hahaha
All nine or so of us screamed "NOOOOOOOOO!!!! EWWWW!!! NOOOOOOO!!!"
Though I do have to admit that I thought he looked better trimmed down, but everyone else was like, "AUGH!"

It's true, Santino does have his moments, and I wonder how many of them are edited out for the show, just to create more tension and drama for the viewer. He's obnoxious and egotistical, but he has had his nicer moments, and he can be really funny. That penis unicorn horn thing was funny. The same thing that happened with you and your roomie happened to me, but in reverse: I was doing stuff on my computer, and next thing I know, my roomie is CRACKING UP and falling off of the bed, she's laughing so hard.
It does look like Santino's going to have some rough times now that Andrae & Nick are gone, but I'd agree that up until Nick's elimination at least, a lot of the Santino tension seemed manufactured. I think everone's pissed about Nick going home, though, so there might be some real drama coming up. Why, Nick, why did you have to sew Daniel's suit so poorly? I agree that there was probably an enormous push to keep Santino on, but you've also gotta have an excuse to get rid of someone else; Daniel was immune and Chloe & Kara kinda kicked ass, so Nick was left. And he had definitely left room for criticism. If Daniel had looked as good as Santino and Nick, I think Santino would've had to go.

I hope it's Santino, as he's deserved to go for a while now, but Kara's going to have to kick ass since they clearly want Santino in the top three. Although they're designing for someone again, right? And look at what happened last year.
So when they're designing for someone, do you think the producers still get to choose? I wouldn't think they would ever give up their influence, but really, that'd be pretty shitty.

Ah, good! I avoided your last post. I'm kinda afraid of finding out more than I want to know right now. I accidently caught a glimpse of the final collections, and now I'm being extra careful about what I read.
Can I just say that I am sooooooooooo happy about who's going to Fashion Week? I'm not 100% thrilled that Santino's going, I would rather have had Nick- but at least Kara isn't going!

And I totally agree with everything you just said, particularly the part about Daniel V.

I totally agree. Santino's dress followed the same formula as always: it starts out looking promising, and the he goes completely overboard. Kara's was boring. Chloe's could have been a great design, but it didn't come out right. I loved Daniel's, but I think it was far too safe.
But, yeah, I'd much rather see Santino's stuff on a runway than Kara's. At least it'd be interesting to a certain degree.

Yeah, that whole "Tell us who you think should go home" thing was a cruel twist. I think Chloe does want this, but when you get so far along in something like this, there is a point where you start wondering about whether it's really right for you. That doesn't mean you don't really want to stick with it, though. I can kind of see where she was coming from.
Nick should be there. Kara should have been kicked off ages ago, during the flower challenge, IMHO. Had she been, Andrae or Nick may have made it. My favoured top three were Nick, Danny, and Chloe- but I knew for a while before Nick left that it was probably going to be Santino, Danny, and Chloe.

No joke! One of the things I really like about Project Runway is that, Wendy/Santino-created drama aside, everyone seems to get along and want to help each other. Because the show really is based on talent, back-stabbing isn't necessary. I wish that they hadn't answered this question, but even choosing Chloe kinda affirmed their suport of each other- as much as everyone was pissed at Santino, they threw their support behind him because they didn't think Chloe wanted it as badly.
Yep. It's total bullshit that he wasn't final three. He was unlucky with his timing as far as the challenges go.
I'm not gonna dis anything of Daniel's, but I think his hair during the season was pretty much perfect. My roommate, a stylist who awesomely enough gets to do a lot of photo shoots and runway shows (no Project Runway, unfortunately), refers to Daniel as "the guy with the great hair."
