I have definitely been listening to Young for Enternity a bunch lately.
Also, this thread reminds me how much music I have NOT listened to in my lifetime...
yeah, there are some bands I need to check out I think.
I'm just getting into the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Dresden Dolls (thanks to my lovely friend, Mason. )
Also, I adore your Franz avatar.
Why, thank you. I'd forgotten just how much I really love them until I saw them last Friday. I fell in love all over again.
And on that note, Pandy- I'm suggesting the The Fallen/L. Wells single by Franz. "Lynsey Wells" is such a great song- I've been listening to it on repeat for about a week now.
Rufus Wainwright also uses tons of layers of amazing piano work, but his stuff is a little mellow. Amaaazing, though.
He is really mellow, but I love his voice and he is definitely an amazing pianist. In my original post, click on his name to go to his myspace page.
And Acceptance is another really cool band, they're much less mellow but also use piano.
MCR's first album is a lot less polished than the second, and it's not quite as over the top, but I still really like it. It's absolutely still really emo/goth and there's still lots of random (often bloody) imagery in the lyrics.
May I suggest randomly: The Guillemots, Air, Royksopp, Psapp, The Cure, Phoenix, The Pretenders, The Sea and Cake, Balkan Beat Box, The Chemical Brothers, Beck
seriously, you have Scott Stapp?! What were u thinking!!!

ben kweller a all piano kinda guy?
Hmm. You could fill in your collection with Green Day's "1045 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours" (I like it but it's not their best - I'm not even sure that's the right title) and Hot Hot Heat's "Knock Knock Knock" EP (I TOTALLY dig this - "Le Le Low" is constantly in my head), as well as the new Jack Johnson CD for that Curious George movie. My friend likes it, but I haven't heard it. If you like piano music, Ben Kweller's first album is pretty good. If you like goofy stuff, I looove the Bloodhound Gang though I haven't heard the newest album. If you like horns and ska-ish stuff, the Hippos' "Heads Are Gonna Roll" is awesome.

We agree then about The Editors. To me, they are like another The Killers, except that they really are British. Their music is good and their live show is enjoyable, but I can't rant and rave about them myself. I suggested them to you cuz I was under the impression that they were hyped up in the UK.
I'd buy Endochine's album "Day Two." They're an Austin band, but their album is sold internationally I believe (it's on Yahoo). Judging by your tastes, I think you'd like them. Listen to either "Secret" or "New Beginning."
Dirty Pretty things- Waterloo to anywhere (it's brilliant) Arctic Monkeys- Who the fuck are Arctic Monkeys EP Snow Patrol- Eyes Open The kooks- (forgot what the albums called but its very good) We are scientists- With love and Squalor Secret Machines- Ten Silver drops The Like- Are you thinking what I'm thinking Elle Milano- Swearing's for art students
i totally need to get all the strokes albums as i love there stuff, also ive been told to get into the yeah yeah yeahs by lots of people so there a "get" also...so rooney are the same kinda stuff as AAR? interesting shall give them/him ago, ive also been told how amazing WAS are aswell..shall listen to them also..what kinda stuff is the other stuff you listed?
Some of the other bands I listed (The Redwalls, The Stands, The Blue Van . . . a few others), have an old sound to them; kind of like a Bob Dylan/Beatles (for the first two), and The Blue Van sounds like a mix between the Doors and the Who.
It all depends on if you like the music that they are influenced by, because these bands really sound from the 60s-70s.
And Rooney (a band, not a man )toured with AAR. They're touring with Kelly Clarkson in a couple of weeks. ----------------------------- Whoever suggested Ben Kweller, that's good too. I listened to him today with my friend Katie and I like him a lot.
If you like pianists, too, check out Regina Spektor and the Dresden Dolls. They're a little quirky, but amazing.

Dirty Pretty things- Waterloo to anywhere (it's brilliant)
Arctic Monkeys- Who the fuck are Arctic Monkeys EP

The Like- Are you thinking what I'm thinking
Elle Milano- Swearing's for art students
Some of the other bands I listed (The Redwalls, The Stands, The Blue Van . . . a few others), have an old sound to them; kind of like a Bob Dylan/Beatles (for the first two), and The Blue Van sounds like a mix between the Doors and the Who.
It all depends on if you like the music that they are influenced by, because these bands really sound from the 60s-70s.
And Rooney (a band, not a man )toured with AAR. They're touring with Kelly Clarkson in a couple of weeks.

Whoever suggested Ben Kweller, that's good too. I listened to him today with my friend Katie and I like him a lot.
If you like pianists, too, check out Regina Spektor and the Dresden Dolls. They're a little quirky, but amazing.
