Throughout our entire vacation, my little sister sang OK Go songs. She took three CDs with her to listen to - OK Go, Oh No, and an OK Go live CD that Pandy made me called Project Awesome. She's such a little super-fan
And we had a game for when we were bored in the back of the car - one of us starts miming to an OK Go song, and the other has to lip-read to work out which song it is.
ALSO we were in Planet Hollywood, just checking out the menu. She was on one side of the restaurant and I was in the other one. There were screens around the place showing videos and playing various songs, and then suddenly, the new wallpaper version of DWYW came on. Marina and I froze, slowly turned to face one another at the same time, both grinning, and then started singing and dancing along in the middle of the restaurant. We were so proud. My mom sang a bit too and got all excited that OK Go were playing. It was a bit fantastic
You know, I was just thinking today how cool it is what you and your little sis have going re: OK Go, being fans together, you saying you swear she's an even bigger fan than you are, etc. This is exactly how it was with me and my sister. She's seven years older than me. When she was Cheap Trick crazy and had their pictures completely covering the walls of our room (Robin and Tom were pin-up boys back then, '78-'79), I was a complete little six-year-old Cheap Trick expert. I was as into them as she was, if you can believe it. Then she heard Cheap Trick were going to be doing some studio work on John Lennon's upcoming album ("Double Fantasy"), and she was interested in that for solely that reason ... Then John Lennon was shot and she went completely John Lennon/Beatles nuts and I was a little seven-year-old Beatles freak/expert ... Then we got into Duran Duran and U2 together, and the Boomtown Rats/Bob G./Band Aid/Live Aid ...
Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that those are fantastic memories for me and she played a big role in who I am today. So I just want you to know I bet you're making lots of fantastic memories for your sis and training her well musically and fandomly.
Yay
(Hm, have I told you this before? I'm having an Alzheimer's moment ...)
About good taste - YES, everyone here is just so automatically awesome.
And also, yes! My little brother, who is twelve, is also an absolute expert on all things OK Go. We've always shared the same interests... I usually spark them. Anyway, it's soo nice to have someone around to blab to about things like this. I'm glad you and your sister had such a great OK Go-filled trip, Electra!
Yeah but then you might get a sister like mine who enjoys nothing more than telling me how much "OK Go suck!" and that she hates them etc. Electra and Shalu, you are so lucky!!!

Very true...and despite that fact I still wish I had one. Aww darn.

You hadn't told me this before - but I'm so glad you did! That's EXACTLY what Marina and I are like. When I used to listen to heavy metal all the time, she loved that as well, and I taught her how to head bang like a true metaller. And now she's obsessed with OK Go, and this TV comedy series that I love called Green Wing (it's totally unsuitable for her with all the swearing and innuendos, but she loves it lol). We act out scenes and she knows whole episodes off by heart. She's seriously a bit of a mini-me.
I love that you've had the same experiences, Sheri. I hope she turns out as dedicated a fan as you are!

We used to always attack the magazine rack during the weekly shopping trip and then ask Mom to buy our finds ... I remember one of the first times I did this (very first time maybe? Who knows), during Cheap Trick era, her getting mad and whining to Mom that the only reason I wanted the magazine I did was that it was the same as hers ... She must have resigned herself to how it was going to be shortly after that.

Aww thank you!!
Don't thank me, thank OK Go Central.
Haha aww, well then I thank you and Sheri!
An observation/appreciation: I love how with OK Go fans you're pretty much guaranteed good taste and a great sense of humor.
This I have noticed

I concur! In the past I've always lurked on forums, but here I find that I have enough in common with people to actually participate. Yay us!

I'm sure I had to be terribly annoying.
